If you dont go after what you want you'll never have it

Ht. 5'4", Start: 226 lb, Today: 221 lb (BMI %tile: 98), Goal: 125 lb - Have any of you heard about the website Myfitnesspal.com? Its a website where you can track your foods. You enter the name of a food, then click on that food, and it comes up in your food diary with the calories it consumed. You can set a daily calorie goal. For men, its more realisitic to have it for 1400-1500, while women want it more 1200-1300. You can track your excersize and it tells you how many caloies you burned. If you want to keep an eye on your sodium intake, sugar intake, fat intake, and all those things it has it aswell. There is a comuninty and you can post your weight loss progress, pictures, ask for motivation, and everything. Its like a forum. Its a very neat website and it keeps me on track and accountable for my weight loss journey! You should try it out.

It sounds like you really want to make a change...so now it's time to take some steps toward that goal. To start off, you should pick a very short term goal, like losing 1 pound by the end of this week. Now, you need to decide what you're going to do to lose that pound. Pick something realistic that you will be able to stick to. I usually suggest cutting out soda & juice & drinking only water. It's a quick & easy way to cut out a lot of calories & water helps to cleanse your system & speed up your meatbolism. As for exercise, I usually suggest to just start walking. No need to tell yourself you're going to start running 3 miles everyday...it just doesn't work that way, you won't do it. Start by walking for 30 minutes everyday. As you get better & used to it, you'll naturally want to start walking longer & faster. Another easy change to make is to pick the healthy option of things you're ... (view more)

it's hard, but keep you head up! i'm sure you've heard that a million times before and you'll probably hear it a million times again, but it's the truth and if it's a food or excercise issue your dealing with then i suggest "the diet for teenagers only". it's a great really helpful book writen by people who understand teenage bodies. but what your struggeling with might just be stress. worry, stress, frustration, all that stuff may not seem like they can have a big effect on your health but it's happened to so so so many people and it makes it alot harder for your body to get rid of fats.
maybe try some relaxing techniques like yoga, or stoping for a minute everyday to take some deep breathes. anything helps. good luck, lots of love .marie

Ht. 5'1", Start: 220 lb, Today: 159 lb (BMI %tile: 98), Goal: 150 lb - I'm only 9 pounds away from my "goal", although that goal seems kind of pointless now. I was just looking at the BMI chart and apparently I have to be down to 130. That's seems so far away! I've lost 61 pounds, and will have lost 70 when I reach my "goal" and I'm proud of that... it's just that it doesn't feel like enough sometimes. Like last night, I had a sleep over and all of my friends are tiny... I felt so different. When we went swimming I was the only one not wearing a two piece. I don't know... maybe I should just suck it up and be greatful. I'll keep working.
