I went to a fat camp this summer. It was a little torturious, but it was so worth it. I learned a lot, and got a serious jumpstart on my weight loss. And that weight loss motivated me! I lost 38 pounds at camp and 15 since I've been back at home! It is expensive though. I went for 9 weeks and it was about 7,000 dollars. Oh, by the way, I went to Camp Shane. (Campshane.com). Hope this helps. *Ray*Ray*

Hey guys! I'm back from camp! (For those of you who didn't know I went to Camp Shane, a weight loss camp, for 9 weeks.) I am extremely happy that I went! I lost almost 40 pounds. I thought I was leaving at 285 pounds but really there was something wrong with my scale (I thought there was anyway because it kept going from 285 to 280 in like 1 hour, and your weight can change by like a pound or two, but five, ummm no! We threw away that scale and got a new one!). I was actually 264.4 pounds when i was weighed in. I left camp weighing almost 40 pounds less. I was 226.6 when I weighed out. I lost almost 40 pounds, 2-3 sizes (depends on the brand) and tons of inches in my stomach, hips, thighs and arms. I don't think I've ever been so happy in my life. It was a 1,000 times easier buying cloths this year because I now fit into a 20 which is a lot easier to find then a 24 or 26. Camp wasn't easy like my preformed idea thought it was going to be but it was worth it!!! You all can emial me at Princess_Dianne35@yahoo.com if you want.

I think all overweight kids should not worry but make a commitment and say do I want to be big or do I wanna be normal sized. That's what I did. I was 275 pounds now I am 115 pounds. I went to a preteen overweight camp for 2 months. I worked out and dropped 50 pounds by the time I went home. I still maintain a healthy diet. Don't stop eating all together, three meals a day and a snack after school.I feel more confident, healthier and better than ever. Don't let words hurt you. Remember it is not all about being beautiful it is being healthy that will count in the long run. Girls that have child obesity are more prone to develope breast cancer and all have a greater risk of diabetes. So eat healthy maintain a good lifestyle and be who you are. If you eat because you are depressed you might want to see a phycologist. I don't mean that you might be crazy but you might be sad. If you don't want to go you can try forms of medetation like yoga. Be cool and be who you are .You can do it!

I was on a school just like that, and it changed completely my life. It was the best thing that ever could happen to me.

Don't I repeat don't take candy!! If you want success and to not waste your time and money, then let them feed you what they think will help you loose weight. I promise you will be happier in the end!!!

To lose weight you will have to say goodbye to junk food anyway so you might as well go to the camp and have fun doing it

That's not true a year and a half ago I was three inches shorter and 45 pounds heavier. Therefore I don't fit either of your quailitys of thin people (though I am thin) I did eat, and I haven't always been thin. For me I went to a summer camp for two weeks at camp I wasn't snacking constantly, but just having the regular three meals a day so when my mom and aunt picked me up (my little cousin also went to camp) they were like "Oh my gosh, you look so good!" I had lost like 15 pounds. I loved seeing that result so I just stuck with eating three meals a day, and like an afterschool snack. Now I am 16 years old, 5 feet 3.25 inches, and 110 pounds! Yeah!!!!

Hi. I have never been to a "fat" camp, but my best friend did. She went to one in NY for a summer. She came back and had lost 20 pounds, but within a few months she gained it all back. When you are at a camp you are on a strict regiment of food and exercise, and if you come home and don't keep up the habits you will gain it all. She only ate fruits and veggies, one small piece of meat a day, and a small piece of bread, and no snacks. She didn't like it very much, because they didn't allow any contact with her family for the first few weeks. Why they did that I don't know. I guess if you can keep up the exercise and diet that you are on at the camp it is a good way to start to lose weight. Otherwise, because the diet and exercise are so strick, you might not be able to continue the same way, you will probably just gain it back. I hope that kind of helped. Good luck!
