A neat idea to help out with Thanksgiving is to have it buffet style. Have all the food in another room, like the kitchen then everyone dishes their one plate of food and then everyone eats in a different room. Try to get everything you want on that one plate because it'll be easy to overeat if you go back for more. Lastly, try talking with people around you, don't focus entirely on the food. The more conversation you're making the slower you're eating and more likely to not overeat. For dessert, either have your mom or someone else dish you some or only take a small plate through the buffet of dessert.

your eating healthy! but mabbi your eating too much. try eating half of what you usually do. And then save the other half for later. And remember to ask yourself: Am I really hungry? or thirsty? and is my brain lying to me?

If you want to stop over eating in general a little trick is to always drink lots of water-ALWAYS. Take a small bit, put down your fork or spoon and take a drink of water. Everytime you take a bit, take a drink of water that way you get full faster and eat less calories.

I had the same issue as you Emily. I know how feels to have the over eating habit.. I would try staying away from the kicthen.. Emily.. I gladly would talk to you.. Im 15..
I even lost 7 pounds since I been on here... I cut my meals in half. And eat the one half eat the other half later. Pizza is still an issue Im still trying solve.. Dont give up.. Emily.. I eat furtis and veagtables.. Straberries are coming soon. Try them out,, make a healthy dresert!!!.

I would drink a lot of water, water proves weight loss.
stay away from vending mincehss. unless you are getting a bag of trail mix.. or a water bottle..

hey girl, i am college bound this fall and getting nervous about my eating habits there too...you might have already heard this tip but i have to say it works for me!! i eat on a six inch dessert plate. i've lost 60 lbs in a year without excercising this way! i eat whatever i like for the most part and only really limit my sweet-tooth to maybe one or two treats a week but you can have whatevr you like, eat what your friends eat just no seconds and don't overload the plate.....if u eat slow, enjoy it, you will feel full in the end. lol it's worth a try. and at school u can easily have your own plate set.

oooo i have another tip at christmas when i got liek loads of chocolate i put it all n a box and put it high up on a shelf in the wardrobe and i would have maybe a little a day but it helps :)

hey evverybody! i hope u all are doin great!! about two weeks ago i started this progam at one of the hospitals here an they teach u healthy eating an exercising an we even do exercises during the class. the last class we used those big balls (i think sum ppl would kno them as the pilates balls) and omg let me tell u they are soo awesome. its really amazing how many muscles u can work with i think. i was really sore the next day an i was totally siked. so far this summer i havent lost any weight like i was planning on. i wanted to lose 20 to 30 lbs by the time school starts sept. 1 an i tried the slim fast diet an for about a week to two weeks i was doin good but it was just too restrictive for me an i always felt like i was missing somethin. this class im in now teaches us all about portion control and let me tell u my protions were no where near right but im doing alot better. they... Ive got a tip for peeps\ your body doesnt realixe its not hungry until 20 mins after you eat so after you eat something WAIT 20 MINUTES!!!!

my mom was talking to me earlyer today and she said if u take a bit and not fill ur fork?spoon till ur finished the first one (just slow down ur eating)u'll get full alot faster iv bin tryin and it works its just hars to remember wut to do

Why is every body so tall?? I'm 5'1 and wiegh 167lbs.
I hate bieng so short, & heavy. I had the same prob. but then I stated cutting my meals. I would eat about 2/3 of it, then when I got it down I started cutting them in half. I lost about 10lbs. in 3 weeks, And so on.
I also exercise now & have lost even more wieght.

hey guys..it's me agin, I am the one who posted about 2 months ago...that I wieghed 390 pounds, well now I am happy to say that now I wiegh 350...and I am still going strong...I lost all this wieght by boxing/kick boxing..and I indeed will continue this...also the strange the is I havnt been dieting at all!!! I just eat less, and I still eat carbs! it's so good, also I do drink water and like 100% pure juices.... I drink more water than juice though, but I do drink juice once in awhile..but alot of people have noticed my 40 pound wieght loss, and it makes me want to keep going..my goal is 200..and I Hope to reach that, by this time next year =)

Oh my goodness...you guys...Ill tell ya how to lose weight....its called...DONT EAT SO MUCH!...Its really simple guys...I used to weigh 240 and I was 5'6'' around Oct. 2002...now I weigh 178 and im 5'10''...IT IS POSSIBLE!!! just friggin dont eat fast food....and give your diet some time guys...like when I started the diet I am on which was March 15th...I weighed 218..now im 178..pretty good ehh? When I started I lost weight really fast in the first week...but the second and third weeks I lost about 2lbs. but after that I lost about 5 lbs. a week....It is hard...but you have to have willpower guys...after a few weeks you dont crave food all the time and it just gets easier and easier to lose weight...if you want my complete diet just tell me.... I know exactly how you feel I am 15 also and now weigh 153 pounds. I have lost 43 pounds and feel terrific. I also want to lose more and get down to around 135. The first thing I did on my diet was cut my food proportions down and started eating fruit and vegis as snacks instead of chips and cookies. I know this is hard for anybody to do, but once you see the scale move down that first week or two it is an amazing feeling. Please e-mail me back I can help you with meal plans and everything. I havent posted anything lately cause Iv been really depressed... I havent weighed myself or measured myself for at least two weeks!!! I havent even tried eatingt healthy for those two weeks... Well now I have spring break so Im trying to get myself back on track... Ive been reading this book and it says that you dont have to count calories... so I decided Im not going to all Im going to do is watch my portions and not eat anything that is not nutritional... the book saysd its not a diet but a "way of life" lol which makes sense... because when you are dieting you feel sooo hungry and deprived... which when you are done... you binge... cause i know I do... I may not eat for a couple days and then I binge.. well i decided to try to stop this... Im not going to be "dieting" anymore Im just going to be eating healthy and excerising more... I just weighed myself... I weigh 215! I gained all the weight I lost... Im hoping to be 160 by the end of May... even if Im 170 Ill be happier..

hey there tabby!
i am not over weight im around 4'11 maybe 5 foot and i weight 102 when i was younger like 11 i was a little over weight. I wanted to be able to wear a bikini and cute mini skirts like everyone else so i know how u feel. when it got to be the summer of 5th grade i knew i had to do something bout this so i decided to go on the web and find some advice. I learned that if u cut your meal in half and not eat as much then ur stomach shrinks so u wont be as hungry ~ seems hard but after ur done eating if u go and do something then u wont have the feeling that u NEED to eat! It really did work for me! i really do hope that u find a way to feel good about ur self and i want to help!
