Well, there is no way you can lose much pounds IMIDIATELY(spelling)!! That would not be heathy... but you could try and lose weight a bit at a time.
Here are some gereral tips:
1) Try to aviod fast foods. Places like McDonald's, Burger King, and A&W offer a LOT of fatty foods. Even if you just went in there to get a salad, you might end up eating a Double Cheese Burger, just because it looked so good on the menue. Try Subway instead!
2) Help your Mom around the house. I heard once that helping out around the house burns more calories then playing badmention. Make your bed! Sweep! Vacume! Dust! Do laundry! The list is almost ENDLESS!
3) Most overweight people eat as a way to avoid their problems. Find another outlet to stress, boredom, anger, or sadness. Instead of chowing down on fries, take a bath, read, play an insrement(spelling), or play sports. It... (view more)

it does burn some calories- but not as many as aerobic exersize does. i like yoga because it really relaxes me and it helps shape my body well. it's great for toning and just stress relieving. i guess it's not for everyone but it's sure great for me...

Dear Matt,I'm going to give you the same advice I gave to a girl on this board. Talk to someone about your worries and concerns. They will help you to see things in a clearer manner and if not, they'll find someone who can. Even if your parents aren't together, it doesn't mean they don't love you. You parents split for a good reason, they must have been unhappy, and therefore, made themselves happy by being a part. Talk to one of your parents, or even both. When you see the doctor you can talk to him, or try a teacher. I know it's stressful when you want to lose weight and it won't go away. Believe I've been there, done that and got the t-shirt!!!! Your too young to be worrying about such matter, but it doesn't stop you worrying does it? Please seek help and don't stay quiet. For some reason, a shared problem becomes a shared solution!!!If you need to vent and don't want to talk with your parents, even if I think you should. I'll always be willing to listen. Krystle AKA hodgypie@aol.comTake care Matt and please seek help!!!!!

When you feel stressed about something you should talk about it and not eat to make yourself feel better because in the end you will end up being unhappy with your weight and you will eat more and so my advice is to talk to one of your friends when your feeling stressed or sad.

just believe in yourself. If you sre bored, read a book, DON"T EAT. If you're stressed, take a bath, DON"T EAT. Only eat when you're hungry. That is what my latest lose-some-weight-project is. Good luck! e-mail me if you wnna talk, giraffe312@insightbb.com

Start: 175 lb, Today: 135 lb - I just wanted to post saying that u guys shouldn't confuse all us michelles, lol. Anyway, this Michelle is the michelle that has been on this board forever, just to let ya know. I also wanted to share with u guys that, after the WHOLE winter of not losing weight, I finally just lost 5 pounds! Yeah! So from the VERY beginning, that makes it a total of 40 pounds! I started @ 175 and now I'm 135. All I have to say is take advantage of nice weather. Get out there and do stuff, it helps relieve stress! Go play basketball for an hour everyday and watch what you eat, and you can easily lose 2 pounds a week! Lots of luv-Michelle
