Hey everyone....I have this book its "THE ULTIMATE WEIGHT SOLUTION FOR TEENS, by: JAY McGRAW" I purchased it at Barnes&Noble but I'm sure u can buy it in other stores.....I've been reading it and I have learned alot. There are people talking about their past expersiences...quizzes and tests....helps build a healthy eating habit, builds self-esteem, u learn portion control...U LEARN SOOOOO MUCH MORE!!!!!!!! I cant name it all.....So if You have some extra bucks or save for it...it's worth it!!!!!!thanks...Im glad i can help

just to help some of you.....if you wana lose weight look on here.....then....dont go on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i didnt go on the computer for 2-3 weeks...i shut it off and told myself not to go on it...\same with the tv!!i knew i would have to keep myself occupied with something else so i did....and i ate less of caurse...and lost....5 pounds in one of those weeks and then when i got back on the computer...i gained those 5 pounds back and it sucks!so today i am going to shut everything off!!hope this helped a bit

Ht. 5'0", Today: 141 lb (BMI %tile: 91) - Hi! I am 5'0 and I weigh 141lbs. I've tried three different diets but none work. I was wondering how well Jay Mcgraws book really is. I've been having alot of self asteam probloms. And doing homeschool,I don't get to do many activities. So it's hard not having any friends to go out and have fun with to help lose some weight. I just need some encoursgement and some advice!

OK at the beginning of Freshmen year i was quickly approaching 275 pounds. it wasn't pretty. However i started to change the way i ate. i cut down my diet and watched how many calories i was eating. I was also making trips to the gym whenever possible to run a mile and lift some weights. I have lost about 55 pounds. my weight has leveled off and is staying about the say though i have started to slack from my diet. I the point is that i was able to lose that much weight in a year and now most of my friends laugh when they see old pictures of me cause they can hardly tell its me. Just watch what you eat and make it to the gym when you can hopefully twice a week and you will start to do fine.

it take longer and your muscles won't strengthen but it is completely possible because it just means you'll have to eat less then you burn...

If anyone else would like to join the weight loss contest post ur weight here me and anne started it and others have been joining and I think it is a great idea they should put a page on this site fo weight loss contest so that everyone even preteens can be a part of this weight loss contest. But anywho if you want to join the weight loss contest started by me and anne post ur weight under this post.

I lost 20 lbs on it and then i just started eating healthy and have lost 30 more lbs, but ww really helped me change my eating habits =)

LoL, well I can defientley relate to the part bout ppl. tellin u what to do. But anyways, First off your parents can't make u eat a certain amount of food, so let them know that. Tell them you want to eat healthy, you want to feel good about yourself, and that the only way you can do it is to eat better and excersize more. And another bit of advice thinking of yourself as 'fat' really brings u down, it does to me, and usualy, when i feel 'fat' i just eat more and more.. so think of yourself instead as someone with a problem with food, and unless u break it it could cause future problems.. thats waht m doin cuz i hate the word fat.. its a harsh word that kids use to call ppl. names with, so i would try to get out of the habit of calling yourself that, its actully pretty hard to stop.. i still call myself that now and then but now i just think of how i have a problem and problems can be fixed so its not as degrading but more helpful.
