LoL, well I can defientley relate to the part bout ppl. tellin u what to do. But anyways, First off your parents can't make u eat a certain amount of food, so let them know that. Tell them you want to eat healthy, you want to feel good about yourself, and that the only way you can do it is to eat better and excersize more. And another bit of advice thinking of yourself as 'fat' really brings u down, it does to me, and usualy, when i feel 'fat' i just eat more and more.. so think of yourself instead as someone with a problem with food, and unless u break it it could cause future problems.. thats waht m doin cuz i hate the word fat.. its a harsh word that kids use to call ppl. names with, so i would try to get out of the habit of calling yourself that, its actully pretty hard to stop.. i still call myself that now and then but now i just think of how i have a problem and problems can be fixed so its not as degrading but more helpful. Hope this helped. luv always, ~*MaNdY*~

Ht. 5'5", Today: 157 lb (BMI %tile: 91) - Hey:-) I haven't been here in forever. Does Henry and Jay still come on here? Anyways....a couple posts back a girl (I believe it was Rachel...) said her birthday was on February 19...so is mine! lol, how cool is that...Anyways. I want to have some of my new years resolution finished by then. I'm sick of saying "I want to lose x amount of pounds before this date." Because that never works for me. I like things like..."By this date I want to have done everything that I could in order to lose x amount of pounds..." and if I don't lose that much, at least I'll know that I tried...and if I do...great. So, instead of having my new years resolution be "Lose 30-40 lbs by summer or else..." I want to have one like, "Eat healthier...exercise daily (no excuses) and feel better by...date" Anyone think that sounds better? and would anyone like to be my diet buddy? I'm 5'4 3/4" (5'5")... hi.i want to lose weight. according to the weight calculator, i am a healthy weight. Although i am sure that my current weight doesn't pose any health risks, i do not think that this calculator is completely accurate, since it gave me a 50 pound healthy weight range. people still call me chubby and things like that even though i am not considered to be overweight. so what i am basically asking for is if anyone has some tips so that i could lose enough weight that i would still be in the healthy weight range but not considered chubby? thanks for yr help :-)

Okay if you're not overweight do not post here saying you are!!!! You have to know if you are or not because you should check the weight calculator before you post! It says: If the calculator says that you are healthy weight, please do not post a message saying that you are overweight. This offends the kids who really are overweight. Read it and listen to it because it makes real overweight people feel really bad! I'm not the boss of this board or anything but I know that it makes real overweight people feel really really bad when you post here saying you're so so overweight when you're a healthy weight, it's like an insult because if you're saying you're so so overweight when you're not, imagine how the people who really are overweight feel. It's not a very nice thing to do so please check your weight on the weight calculator before you post here saying that you are overweight. Consider... (view more)

I absolutely love THE FIRM! It is true that you will see visible results in 10 or less workouts. I actually saw them after about 5. The set I bought came with Maximum Cardio Burn, Firm Abs, Body Sculpting, and Aerobics + Weight Training. I urge you to use the Firm. It is almost life changing. I lost 26 pounds in one month, and I ate 3 meals healthily every day! For all of you who need to lose weight, please please buy this or even tae bo. They both work awesome.

Some ppl would say low carb and some ppl would say low cal, everyone is different so U cant really say which one is better than the other cause that would be an opinion not a fact, what kind of lifestyle do you live? What kind of foods do you like? Some ppl love steak while others love fruit and grains, I know I have tried the low carb diet and I couldnt stay on it for 2 days cause I love my starch but Low cal diets work for me, it all depends on you and what u like and what you think would work for u....Something u could stick to and not totally deprive yourself to the point of thinking and dreaming about a certain food, I swear thats what I did when I was on the low carb diet...I saw fruit dancing!! lol scary....

Hey ya'll. Been reading and realizing that some of have the same problem, a big stomach. (If I were to wear a form-fitting shirt and some jeans I would either look pregnant or like a single scoop ice cream cone lol unless I made sure everything was tucked and/or sucked in nicely lol.) Anyways for all those girls out there who have this problem there is a book by Brad Shoenfeld called Look Great Naked. It has help me a bunch and have lost about 5 inches off my evil, rebellious waist. I checked it out from the library. Hope this helps. TTFN -Veronica

Hey Colleen. I feel ya, I have that exact same problem.. my chunky stomach! lol Anyways, try going to your library and checking out the book Look Great Naked by Brad Shoenfeld. It has a lot of great exercises for that area for great looking abs, it also addresses the other 2 "Trouble Zones" for females... the behind and thighs. It has helped me a lot, I lost about 5 inches off my waist. Pilates works great also. It really focuses on the abs and calls it the "Power House", so that's another way to get the tummy in shape. Alrighty, dear, hope that helps. ~Veronica

For anyone seeking a really good book for emotional eating problems or just eating right and stopping dieting that is harmful(not saying all diets are just the dangerously low calorie ones, and eating habits that include binging, Jay Mcraw's book, The ultimate Weight loss Solution for teens: 7 keys to weightloss, is REALLY good. I fineshed it today, and i think its a must read even if u are on a different diet because u can apply the steps to any lifestyle for the better. Anywayz~~i'll get back to y'all later, best of luck~~CheLLie :)

Well.. I was a chubby 10-11 year old (around 4'10'' and 110 lbs) but I didn't know about this site then, or I would have come. =(
I came when I was 12... and I had lost most of the weight and was about normal. I then started helping others by telling them how I did it. =)

I went to The Firm's website a while ago after seeing how many of you use it and have had results with it. Well, it looks alot like a woman/girl kind of video, and I'm, well, not one of those 2. So, anyone know any other things like The Firm that guys could use, or is The Firm alright?

Oh, and another really cool thing. On that new "Kids helping Kids" section... I have 6 of my previous posts in it. I looked through them all, and the whole section is really helpful. =)

Girls tend to worry about lifting weights, cos we don't want to gain that man muscle. Trust me, unless your a man or taking certain drugs then you won't gain man-ly muscle while lifing weights. You will never be the size of those body bulders cos your a female. You can lift weights without worry, trust me. If in doubt, then research the topic!!!! Krystle Ps Here's some information I found to tell you more indepth of what I was trying to say!! ********************************************************Here's the magic secret word... Testosterone. Say it with me... Testosterone. This is the magic ingredient that allows guys to get huge, and stops women from getting huge. The way it works is like this. Men have lots of testosterone. Because of this fact, we can get "huge" and "big and bulky" and whatever other fancy words you want to use. We can get big muscles. We men can get big and bulky... (view more)
