Ht. 5'7, Wt. 150 - Hey Everyone,
For all thoes who are struggling so hard to lose weight, heres some things that have really helped me keep the weight off. I'm sure you all know these, but hey, its always good to be reminded!
1.) NEVER OVER EAT! Once your body says full, stop right away. Throw your leftovers in the garbage, whatever. Just don't keep going, because thats the best recipe to gain weight and/or not lose. Just think before you take another bite "Is this really worth it?"
2.) STAY AWAY FROM THE JUNK FOOD! Deep fryed, somthered in greese and butter, high refined carbs like white bread, patatoes, rice, and high sugar and calrorie foods. Don't compleatly give them up otherwise you'll feel deprived. Just try to stay away from them and only eat them every once in a while in small amounts. The best way to do it... (view more)

Hi, I suffered from the same problem you did. I am currently barely in the healthy weight range, but I am slowly creeping down. One thing that I did was whenever I got a craving, I would have a glass of water and wait for 10 minutes. Then, if the craving hadn't ceased, I would have an apple, banana or pear if I was craving sugar. If I was craving fat or protein(I originally perceived this craving as salt), I would have a small handful of peanuts, an avocado or a turkey bite (it is like a hot rod, except made with turkey meat--only 50 calories per 1), followed by another glass of water. Then I would engage in an interesting activity (something involving physical movement, such as playing fetch with my puppy or skipping. I found skipping particularly helpful, as I would constantly try to break my record. I found that story on this site about the baseball kid very helpful. Just one more... (view more)

Well actually it's true, you shouldn't eat while you are watching tv. Tv and eating are both mindless activities, so of course you can do them at the same time. The thing is, you're not focusing on how much you are eating while watching tv. So you could eat a whole lot more than you think. Not a good idea!!

OMG!!! I'm 131 today!!! I can't believe it! I know I can do this! My School Goal is 125 and I have a feeling I'll get there because I have a whole month before school starts to lose 6 lbs. I think I can do it. In total I've lost 16 lbs. To me that's pretty good. My advice to everyone here.... # 1 think positive and love yourself for who you are now...# 2 Don't do a fad diet ( eat what you want but don't over do it )... and # 3 be active...you don't have to exercise...just get out there and have fun...do things with friends enjoy life Good luck everyone I'll keep you updated. Here's something i found:
The 30 Easiest Ways to Burn More Calories
The following is adapted from Bargain Beauty Secrets by Diane Irons. Sourcebooks Inc., 2002. Used with permission.
Can you lose weight without buying special foods, joining a gym or getting involved in an expensive diet club? Yes! By making important lifestyle changes, you'll lose the weight safely and permanently while saving money!
1. Reach for water before you reach for a snack. It's the cheapest, safest appetite suppressant there is.

2. Keep the cupboards bare. You'll save both money and temptation. By cutting back on the amount of food choices you have around, there will be less impulse snacking.
3. Do something inspiring. A cheap incentive is sticking a picture of a dress you'd really love to wear where it will motivate you. For those with a wild side, get your belly button ... (view more)

Hey, all you have to do is eat healthy. You don't have to go on some crazy diet. You basicly just stay away from fried, fatty, and junk food. REMEMBER THAT. And you should exersize as much as possible. Dosen't matter what you do as long as you are playing, dancing, running, playing a sport, ect. Some things that could help you eat less are........1. If you want, on your fridge, you can put a picture of the person that you want to have a body like. So when you think about pigging out, you can look at them and say to yourself "If I want to have a body like theirs, I need to stay away from that junkfood"2. You can chew sugar free gum whenever you have a craving for junk food3. drink a lot of water b-4 meals so you won't be as hungry so you won't eat as much4. drink a lot of water anytime, anyplace5. cut your meals in half and save the rest for laterThats pretty much all that I can think of. HOPE I HELPED! PS R u a boy or a girl? and how much do you weigh?

This was posted by a girl named erin and i thought it would be good to post it! here it is: The only real way to lose weight safely it to eat healthier and exercise. It may seem like this is said so many times but it is true. Rapid weight loss might give you immediate results, but your harming your body. Your metabolism usually slows down if you cut down your calorie intake below 1200 calories. And since you are depriving yourself of foods you want (and need), your bound to binge on them later... my advice to u is to take your time, and try to take your excercize more out side as in walking or jogging, and eat alittle less a day.

Just eat less junk foods and try to excersize more. If u have a brother or sister have them help you i'm sure they will. try to distinguish the difference between cravings and hunger. drink quite a bit of ater but make sure you do still eat because if youy don't it won't be worth it because you'll be sick. Oh yah, remember that it takes time and patience, you cant expect to do it all in a few weeks.

Hey all. I used to be a fat 'un, just thought i'd share me story. At 15 I weighed 15 stone, so thats about 210lbs. By 17 i was down to 10 n' 1/2 (so 147ish), and i'm still at that. Basically what i did was moved more and ate less. Lol, obviously thats a bit general. Pick a sport/exercise your good at and keep going with it. I could skip, we had a rope in the garden - there we go, daily workout. Food wise, i cut out the crap - crisps, choc, excess sugar on cereal etc. I cooked all my own meals and learnt how to make healthier snacks etc. Just exercising alone isn't enough. Try and get ya family in on it too or a buddy for support. The biggest factor is you have to WANT to do it. Stick with it. If people are giving you grief for being a chunker, dont turn to food, stick to your regime. Likewise, dont go too extreme on the health kick (sicking up/no eating etc). Lol! Thats pretty much it, I need to get ready to go to the bummers club. Tata!!

Basically the concept of losing weight is that you have to burn more calories then you take in. So exercise is almost a must in losing weight. Try to exercise for 30 minutes 3+ days a week. You don't have to do boring videos or classes to get exercise. You can do it by doing things you like. Such as taking a walk with a friend, I find that when I'm talking to someone while walking I forget that I'm actually exercising because I'm having fun! You could also swim, ride your bike, jump on a trampaline (sp?) or join a sports team...you could do basketball, soccer, softball or whatever sport you like. As far as eating goes don't restrict yourself to much. Other wise you'll just give up and you won't get anywhere. Let yourself have a SMALL treat once a week. Like a kiddie size ice cream or a servings of chips. Try to eat 4-5 vegtables or fruits a day. A mixture of both is the best. And one last thing, don't lose hope. It's a long hard road but you'll get to the end! *Ray*Ray* If you want more help email me sweeti_gurl2003@yahoo.com
