Hello. Since you are used to eating a lot, it would be easier for you to get started by cutting down on rather than depriving yourself. Tell yourself you are only going to have two slices of pizza, and eat them slowly, so you have a chance to notice that you are not hungry anymore. You can still make healthy decisions at a diner, belive it or not. Most diners have grilled chicken (the kind without the crispy coating), or some sort of a deli sandwich. If not, only eat one burger, and it's not as unhealthy if you don't put cheese on it. Don't get me wrong, a little cheese is good for you, but adding it to a hamburger is adding a lot of fat. Ask your parents to buy reduced-fat snacks - some of them are actually pretty good. You'll notice that after a while of eating less fat, if you have a day when you eat fatty foods again, you will be tired at sluggish. It feels better to eat healthy. On ... (view more)

hey, to all of yall, don't diet if its not working for u, go ahead and splurge once and a while, it makes it all worth it. Kelloggs has Special K ego waffles that are to die for, with no fat. Anywayz, im about 5'6'-5'7, and 133 lbs, splurging once and while, surprisinly has helped me lose wieght. thats because u don't feel deprived and have that warm fuzzy feeling that comes from good comfort food-and u don't overeat, u don't binge. Im still not at my goal yet, which is 120 lbs, but i know ill get there by this summer. Ive started running about 20 minutes a day, which is 2 miles. Two or three days a week i do kickboxing . the key to losing weight is to -EAT- yes -EAT, AND exercise, it all goes together. Eat healthy and its gauranteed, no matter how much u think u may eat, u'll lose weight. Ive lost 20 lbs so far, and im so phsyced cuz i know, if i push hard, -by this June or July, ill have my dream body.

Hello Ali,
I want to tell you, your not alone! That is for sure! My worst time of the day for eating is after school. I'm just so use to coming home and grabbing something to eat! Its awful, and i'm trying so hard to break this habbit. Things that have helped me, as soon as u get home, have a glass of COLD water. It may help fill you up a bit, so you might not feel hungry, and head towards the fridge. Also, i tried chewing gum, it helps sometimes! Hope i helped u a bit! And good luck!

Here's a tip for losing weight: Don't just start eating when you feel hungry. I could be that you're dehydrated. You should drink a glass of water first, then wait 10 minutes or more and see if you're still hungry. If so, then consume healthfully! God Bless You!!!

Hey everyone! Recently i started a diet and its been so great! So far I lost about 6lbs and I've been doing it the healthy way too. I've been cutting my meals in half, instead of Juice I drink ice water. I've almost completely cut back on snacks except for the odd rice cakes once in a while, and i'll always pack myself a healthy lunch instead of Cafeteria food.also, I've been exercicing for over an hour each day. all that exercise sounds tough, but its actually easy. I have phys-ed everyday for 76mins so that helps, but everyday after school i always find some sort of physical activity to do like biking, rollerblading, basketball, soccer, running with the dog and those types of things. you guys should give it a try and you'll see how well it works! good luck!

I have some things to say ->
IF you really want to loose weight, don'T insult yourself by saying "I'm fat" or "I'm so fat": Why? Well, I gained weight and got "fat" through depression. Saying things like those above sayings, and what many of what I've seen below, can make you really depressed and cause anxiety.. which can lead to gaining weight! Not loosing weight!
Don't starve yourself to loose weight. That is the wrong thing to do! I saw a great tip yesterday... before you eat something unhealthy, eat 3 things that are healthy first. So to every thing you eat unhealthy or junky, eat 3 times as much healthy sstuff. BUt do remember! Too much of a good thing, is a bad thing! Thats why you should try to keep balance.
If you get hungry between meals, eat something small and healthy. Eat it slowly so your stomach registers itsself full before you stuff yourself too much. ALso,... (view more)

i'min the same situation as you i also way about 130 -135 but i have lost about 10 lbs. heres what i did
i stuffed my fridge with grapes plums peaches, you know all the fruits i like, oh and didn't buy junk food at all. then when i got hungry between meals all i had to do was eat a fruit or two. then i would dance around in my living romm for 30 min. to 45 min(you can do it with your friends it's fun) and i lost about 10 lbs. i kow how you feel though my best friends are the same age and height but a perfect size 1 and they have great curves it annoys me some times but i don't let it get to me. keep it up you can do it, also don't try and set your goals for like 20lbs in a month try something like i'll lose 2 lbs these two weeks then two or three the next two then 1 or two then a couple the next few it helps you feel more like you've acheived your goal and it's not that hard. bye good luck

I know exactly how you feel, and to let you know, it is possible. I was 175 pounds and am now 145 pounds. I lost all that weight in about a year. All i really did was count calories (limiting myself to 1550 a day) and exercise about a half hour a day. Just give yourself time, and you can do anything you set your mind to.
P.S. I'm 5'2", so i really was fat, i still am, but not as much as i was.

each day i plan out a meal and i go by that meal. if i am still hungry which most times i am not i eat a piece of fruit or have more veggies and drink lots of water. i get anywhere form 30 minutes to and 1 hour and a half in the morning and for the evening anywhere from half an hour to an hour and a half in the evening. so the min. is one hour of exercise. i usually never exceed two and a half hours of exercising. when i do exercise in the evening i make sure it's after my last meal. after that no food at all. i just drink lots of water and if i do happen to be a tad hungry i grab a piece of fruit. when i stepped on the scale i've noticed that i have lost weight.

I know a great way to loose those extra pounds. First set a goal, you may have read this alot but this is VERY important. Second, you stop eating greasy foods and pop. Instead try carrots and light dip. One of the most important steps is exercise. You CANNOT loose wait by just dieting. Try 10 situps 3 times a day to start then start doing more gradually, so you don't strain yourself. Go for a 30 minute walk a day, if you have a dog then you could take him/her along. For those of you who just cannot stop craving food (like me) I have some great tips, try strong toothpaste. None of that kiddy stuff. I use arm and hammer. Strong mouthwash help aslo. Gum works for some but not all people, so stick with mouthwash. Whenever you think 'What's the point of this? Its going to take forever and I don't think it will work' just take a look at yourself and think of being skinnier. NEVER NEVER !!NEVER!! starve yourself! Good Luck and remember, you are doing this for yourself ONLY for yourself!

Hi,
my name is brittany and i am from new york.
one thing you can try to do is try to cut down on the fatty foods. ( cake, chips, candy, soda, ext.) and try to eat foods with Low Fat or Fat Free on the lable. drink ice cold water with a lemon slice squeezed and dropped in it instead of soda and juices. Try to sign up in gym afterschool activities and take walks in the park or down a sidewalk everyday for 30-35 minutes. Remember that it takes around 10 minutes of non-stop exercise for your heart to pump at an arobic rate. Keep trying and go to the library for additional books on losing weight. GOOD LUCK!

Join sports, I joined swim team and that helped me a lot...Also, don't eat when you're watching T.V... you never know how much your eating. Also, shut off the T.V. and go outside and play, I walk to school and home again and that is good exercise too. Don't eat too many sweets. My mom told me that when I want to eat a snack I should brush my teeth first because sometimes the icky taste in my mouth is the only thing making me want to put a better taste in my mouth...plus its good for my teeth (brush your tongue too). Good luck let me know if I helped you any!!!

Hi everbody. Well, I have a lot of tips, but I have one that I will tell everyone is the most important. WATER!!!!!!!!!!! You are made up of water and you need it survive. If you don't drink enough water it could lead to headaches, stomachaches, dehydration, and feeling all around icky. That's not the only reason I brought it up. Water is a great dieting tool. If you drink a big glass of water 10 minutes before you eat, it will fill you up and help you eat less. It will also balance out the food so you won't be so bloated after a large dinner because the water will digest fast. In other words, it will take up space you would cram with extra food. Water is also the best replacement for pop and juice containing 0 calories! It also cleans out toxins in your body such as caffine which can drag you down. I highly recomend drinking at least 5 glasses of water a day. You'll be amazed at how much better you feel. Good luck to all of you!

hey, i was born around the same time. and im 15 and 5'5' too! I remember when i was young i weighed 175 lbs and as of last yr i weighed 155, now i weigh 135 lbs and its been a dream come true for me. The first step is to set small goals, i swear by my weight loss that this works, if your 175 now, make a goal to lose just 5 lbs, and once you reach that goal, make another to lose just only 5 lbs, it works, my next goal is 130.
Ive COMPLETELY cut out junk food, all sodas, any and all forms of junk food, inluding manyonnaise and cheese. I now only drink water and eat healthy food. believe me, its been hard and the temptations were hard too, but i just kept in mind what i wanted the end result to be. I try and go to the gym everyday and do the treadmill for an hour; which for me burns 500 calories daily, and i do kickboxing three times a week, i had only been doing this for a couple of...
