I know this might sound weird, but I exercise at different times every day for variety...makes me feel like I'm doing something different. When I feel like that, I usually get more excited and get more pleasure out of the exercising.

i heard that spinning a hula hoop around ur waist help u lose inches off. and all u have to do is 10 minutes of this a day and u will lose at least 2 inches off ur waist and 2 lbs a month just by doing this. so if u combine hula hoop with other types of exercise and healthy diet, i think u will lose a lot of weight. i just satrted doing hula hoop. i do 5 minutes in the morning and another 5 minutes before i go to bed. hope this helped.

A months ago I tried again but this time I had more willpower I started to do yoga and it really worked I have now lost 21 pounds it may not seem alot but it was to me I now weigh 123 pounds. so if you are stuck give it try even if you feel really stupid it worked for me!

i have a question and everyone can respond. my question is, if u dance, can u lose weight? and if so..how long do u do it?
Reply From Michelle, Age 14 - 07/24/02 - IP#: 63.168.31.xxx   show message replied to go to original board
The answer is YES!! The more intense, the better, the more you sweat and all that, the better. Usually if you dance (guess it would be modern, but if you don't know what I'm talking about, then probably a choreographed routine like Britney Spears) will burn about 600-700 calories and hour. And 1 pound=3500calories, so if you danced for an hour a day for 5 days, and kept your normal eating pattern, you would lose about a pound.

hi! i have a question. does anyone know what is the best way to get rid of the fat on stomach? i do situps every night and morning but it doesn't seem to be working at all. thanks

smiley is right that sit ups will only build muscle, but keep in mind that muscle is a power-house for burning calories. so eventho you prolly wont notice results, the muscle you are building by sit ups burns fat and calories faster than if you weren't doing any sit ups.

Okay guys. Sorry to break your cloud but sit-ups do not make your stomach smaller. They build muscle which you won't see, until you have gotten rid of the fat off your stomach. The only way to get rid of fat on your stomach, is to burn more calories than you eat. So in other words, there is very little point in doing sit-ups unless you have little fat on your stomach. Hope this helps! :)

Hey! I had, well still have a little, bit of the same problem as you. See, there is this exercise routine thing that works great for you hips, thighs, stomach, and upper body (with out giving you HUGE muscles).Anyway, the thing is called PILATES and it really works. It works on lengthening the muscles and I'm telling you it is a dream come true! LOL! Well, you can find a video anywhere (Target is good) and you can even find and take classes at a local gym or something. Good luck!

Good news everyone! I got a trampoline!! It's so much fun to bounce. My parents made a deal with me though. I have to jump for 15 minutes a day. It gets really tiring, but I turn on the radio or listen to my cd player. Also, now that its a lot warmer outside, I go outside and kick my soccer ball at the stairs everyday. The stairs "pass" the ball back. Speaking of the weather, swimsuit season is coming up. Oh how I hate pulling on a swim suit that shows every detail in your body. Ugh! Well, this year I'm going to this camp and I want to be thinner by then. Hopefully I'll be able to wear a bikini infront of my seriously fit best friend. Crunches, crunches, crunches is all I'll be doing until the last two weeks of July. Proportion wise I'm not doing well, but I've been drinking lots of water. Oh and someone asked about not eating after 7:00. Yeah, well this person in the success board said ... (view more)Good news everyone! I got a trampoline!! It's so much fun to bounce. Yeah, well this person in the success board said they lost weight by not eating after 7:00 and you can only drink water. It definitly works. So hup hup hup hup, moving moving moving, I'm going to contsantly move around so that I'll have energy. Yay! Also, the Britney Spears diet/workout article in Seventeen seems like a good idea, except I would drink also drink two glasses of milk. Does the gallon of water thing work? (view less)

Hey! I know probably alot of you if not all HATE to run. Yeah I do too. BUT! Its really not that bad. I have a treadmill and if you have one too you should use it. I just ran a mile in about 16.5 minutes and I weigh 245 lbs. Just put on some music and just run! Another thing I like to do is try to beat your time. Yesterday I got 18.5 minutes and today I got 16.5 minutes! And also drink LOTS of water. If you drink any soda it should be DIET! If you limit that regular soda you drink every day you can lose 25 lbs. a year!

hey every1.i read sumwhere that spot training was the only way to lose weight in a specific area. (to ne1 who doesnt know wot it is, its an exerise that concentrates on 1 part of the body to lose weight from it).the problem is,ive also read that spot training is a myth n doesnt work. can any 1 clear it up? Also, how can it be a myth when crunches r the only way to a flat stomach?thnx
Reply From Michelle, Age 14 - 05/06/02 - IP#: 63.173.85.xxx   show message replied to go to original board
Spot training is a myth, a widely known myth. Crunches do sorta give you a flat stomach, if you're going for a muscly flat stomach while also doing aerobic work outs. The only way to lose wieght in one place is to lose wieght over your entire body. So, instead of spending your time doing crunches to flatten the flab, try to run or walk for a while everyday. You'll lose wieght all over, including your stomach, then you can do those crunches to tone your stomach and give you a washboard!
