Try doing what I do. Think of the number one reason why you want to lose weight. If it's for an outfit or something pin it up on your wall or write it down. Look it at as much as you can. That way you remind yourself

hey all... you know what bugs me? when ppl say we want to loose weight for the "wrong reason" what ever reason it is the fact that we are trying to loose weight should be good enough so weather your motivation is to get healthy or get that guy on the soccer team to look at you im just really proud of you if you woke up today willing to do sumpthing about your weight there is no "right" or "wrong" reason to loose weight so dont listen to other ppl and do whats right for you luv and kisses ...candi <3

Hi. i have been overweight scine, i dont even remember. Well i started at the beggining of this year and so far i have lost five lbs. i work out everyday, but i dont do weight tranning so that i get max. results. ANYWAY i have had a ton of support that really helped. Along with this site, i write in my weight journal a couple times a week, and i have a very strict dicipline routine for myself. On my closet door, i have all of my goals for the month and i keep track of my progress. I also print out insparational quotes and different thoughts that i have about my life before and after starting to diet. it works, every day when i get up i focus on the day and what i want to make of it. Try it.

Hello everybody,Just thought I'd give you all idea, might work better for girls than boys though, if you go through magazines or anything and see pictures that inspire you cut them out and paste them on a poster put them in your room and look at them everyday and hopefully it will inspire you more and more each day. I am doing it! I have a fantastic feeling it will work it will give me confidence. Goodluck yall, mwaxxoxxoxx

Hey guys, this might seem like a little much, but once in a while I repeat this mantra to myself over and over again, "I don't care about food, I want to be thin." This has really helped me, because every time I'm about to eat something I shouldn't, I hear myself saying that mantra, even if I really do feel like eating the food at the moment. Maybe it sounds crazy, but it works for me! (By the way, there has been research lately that shows that hypnosis really works for weight loss, so at least I have some research backing me up)

Hi everyone, all my life i have considered myself overweight. i never seemed to care about it until about my 8th grade year. i had been lookin at pics of myself while playing basketball and i realized how much i hated the way i looked. so i sat down with my mom and stepdad and they talked to me telling me that i could make a change, and so i did. my motivation was, i am embarassed to admit, money that i would get from my parents if i lost a certain amount of weight. Then, i weighed 200 lbs!! now, i have lost between 40 and 48 lbs, and i weigh between 150 and 158. i am definitly happy that i have lost this weight, but i need to lose mayb 10 pounds and i would b ecstatic. i need the support and any ideas from ppl!!! thank u soooo much!

I did bad for breakfast! But I am going to do good for the rest of the day and if I do, I am going to go get a magazine and some gum, that always makes me happy, plus my mom and I are going camping sun-tues and I will need something to read, and we are going to the store to get stuff for it tonight!

hey here's a great idea to stay motivated. cut out pictures from magazines of like model's or like "your future body" i say. like one picture for every pound you loose. then print out the weight number. so like on picture would say 148, then 147 and so on until your goal. then for every pound you loose stick that picture on you wall where you can see it. that way you stay motivated and still decorate your wall at the same time. so far for me i have 3 pictures on my wall cause i've lost 3lbs since i've started this fantastic idea. you guys should do it to. all you need is a magazine and tape!

From Tori, Age 15 - 07/04/04 - IP#: 207.69.137.xxx  go to original board
i just finished working out wiht my slim in 6 video. I posted before saying I had no motivation, and I really didn't. But I just popped the tape in and said to myself "5 minutes" and if i don't feel like doing it anymore I won't. Well it is true what they say, after just 5 to 10 minutes of working out you start to feel more engergized and willing to work out (crazy I know). I realize that my motavation should be feeling like this- the great feeling you get after you just worked out. So for everyone who has days they don't feel like working out, give yourself the time of just 2 songs on the radio to get your heart rate up and you'll feel like doing even more. Even if you don't thats an extra 50 calories burned!

Because motivation is a must in exercising, does anyone want to start a little group where we check in every weekened or so and tell how many pounds we lost and how things are going? If so e-mail me at Selenafan@pa.net
