Some people just know what type of girl they want. Everyone has different prefrences and for some looks come first and personality second. As long as you keep yourself well groomed and presentable a good should like you for you.

I agree with Jenna, there is no healthy way for you to lose 40 lbs in 2 weeks. However, high school could be the start of a "new" you. That is, become more confident and sure of yourself. Don't think that that guy didn't want to go out with you because you were overweight, he didn't deserve you because you are a better person than he is. Stand up tall, and make your presence known, in a good way of course. Be friendly and upbeat and care about people. Most of all, care about yourself. Take care of your body. Instead of thinking "oh I have to lose so much weight" think "I should take better care of my body." Try to eat healthier foods, try new activities and just have fun.

Hey everyone!! The other day my friend and I were walking around and we came across these really nice handsome boys around our age and we all started talking and one of the boys, Paul asked me how long I had been overweight. I was kind of shocked by this but I answered him,"pretty much my whole life". He said " i used to be overweight". i asked him if he was lying and he told me no. he used to weigh 420 lbs. i stared at him in disbelief. he told me if i wanted to, he would help me lose some weight. i agreed and we have been working together for about a week and i have lost about 8 lbs!! what we did was exercise every day from about 8:00 am-10:00 am by either running, walking, doing aerobics and other stuff. and we followed weight watchers. i cant belive i went on weight watchers. it was a shock, but it does work. I hope this story inspires you! Paul and I are great friends now and we might become something more than just friends! ~ivy

There was just a messege on here after stephanie's messege and I don't know where it went. They where saying that they were worried about their friend b/c they felt their friend was becoming overweight and while I was replying the messege went away. (I know I am not crazy...lol). So here is what I wrote them: If you are worried about telling your friend your feelings then I suggest that you spend more time with her. Invited her over to your house and have salads for dinner,or go to the mall all day so you both can get some exercise. You can ask her to join a walk-a-thon with you (even just a 3 mile one) and then you both can "practice" walking the 3 miles together a few times a week until the day of the walk-a-thon. Possible tell her you feel you are fat and want to lose 5 or 10 poundss, then ask her to be you "diet buddy". You may be able to help her lose some weight with out even telling her you think she is fat. I hope this helps. Bye.

DONT LOSE WEIGHT FOR A GUY. trust me if the guy doesnt like you now he isnt going to like you because of 10 lbs. He isnt worth it. a friend of mine was only 125lbs and her bf told her she needed to lose weight. She began to starve herself like you want to and became anerexic. Her boyfriend ended up breaking up with her while she was in rehab. When she got back to school he thought she looked great and wanted to date her. But what good is it if they only like you when you are skinny. they have to be there for you in the hard times too. dont change appearance for someone else. plz dont

I hope this replies to the right message because my computer is acting a bit funny. If you don't mind you should probably "diet" with him. If he's eating fruit and veggies while everyone else is eating sweets and crisps then you should eat fruit and veggies too. Do fun and active stuff with him too, like going and playing fribee or football at the park. It will make it easier on him to lose weight and stay motivated knowing that you are there for him.

Hey!!
People that call other fat are not very good friends. most people make fun of others because it makes you feel lower then them in their mind if you make sure that they don't know it bothers you it might help a little nad might leave you alone. If these does not work and they still make fun of you try telling someone you trust so they can talk to those friends. I know you probably don't wanna go up to them but try it maybe it will help you!!

I know exactly what you mean, but one other thing, next time you are out in town on a weekend, look around you at all the girls and women who are part of a couple. You will see that they are all different shapes and sizes!!!! So it must be possible and different boys must like different sizes! I don't know how it happens though!! But I told my brother (he is 19) what you said because he always has slimmish girlfriends and he said that a girl could have either a pretty face or a great body, it doesn't need to be both! But he also said that last summer when he was working on a children's camp (he is a student) there was a girl who was chubby and not particularly pretty and at first he wasn't interested in her, then as he was working with her and he got to know how much fun and interesting she was, he started to really like her, and he asked her on a date but she said no!!! (He is quite good-looking). So anyways that is just my thoughts on what youh said but it seems like there is always hope!!!!

Hi, it does sound like your friend may be overeating. Try to help your friend by suggesting healthier food to munch on (since she/he insists on eating) Try fruit instead of chips... stuff like that. Otherwise, its your friends choice. One day it will come to her, shes overweight. but as of right now, shes ok, just not in great shape. I wouldnt tell her shes fat or anything. just gently say to her, "you need to keep that great body you have, dont blow it on snack food when ur not hungry". or if you are overweight, "Will you help me eat better, will you try this diet with me?" Just make up stuff like that. but dont give her too many compliments otherwise she will think shes fine and wont change her habits. Good luck.

Ask them questions about themself. Most people LOVE talking about themself and it makes them like the person who is asking. Show a genuiene interest in them. Smile and laugh a lot. It really works!!!

Hey Tod, you shouldnt lose weight because you want to impress someone special, you should do it for yourself! I mean its good that you want to impress her, but she should be impressed with you just the way you are! If she's already impressed then it doesnt hurt to impress more i guess hehe , but make sure that ur doing it for the right reasonS! If she didnt like you before you lost weight and she ends up liking you afterwards, why would you want someone so superficial anyways?? It's just a thought...
