That great that you lost 40 pounds Sade!! mini goals are a good step so that way you wont be disapointed that you did not make your big goal. I used to be 165 pounds last year. Start with 10 pounds by the end of the mounth you will want to lose 10 more. Drink lots of water, ride bike, walking, running, jog, scctor, Jump rope, stretchs. Swiming, kayking, boating, roller skateing, ice skateing, eat less. Dont give up reaching your goal. Dont be discourged.
I hope to have helped

Hey Liz. I think that's a well written poem!
On a side note though, i hope you don't give that much importance to the numbers on your scale. It's there for a i'll guidance and motivation sometimes, but don't let it take over your life where you feel you can only have a good day if the numbers on the scaled agree with you... That wouldn't be too healthy..
Good Luck and keep writing!
:)

OMG guys. I'm so happy. I'm finally 133. That was my goal for my vacation and vacation is in 2 days. I can't believe I made it!!! my next mini goal is 131. This is my advice for everyone. Don't rush yourself in losing weight..accept that it will take a long time. I mean..I told myself..my goal for vacation is 133 but I also told myself that If I didn't make it I'd still go and have a great time anyway..instead of letting my weight ruin it. Don't plan to lose weight by school or by a certain date cuz all that does is ruin your progress trust me..I mean..I want to be 125 by school..thats my goal but I'm not going to make it a have to do thing. I'm going to lose as much as I can.shoot maybe it will only be 1 or 2 lbs but the point is I'm beautiful no matter what I weigh and you guys should feel the same..I hope everyone is doing well with progress..i do wish you all the best. i don't think we should be so obbessed with actul "weight" on this site. If we know the actual amount of fat on our body then we can use that to track out weight loss success, but when we say we weight a certin weight there is some muscle in there, and if you exercise correctly for a long period of time you will actulyl gain lean muscle, which will in turn make you weight more on the scale but fit into one LESS dress size. What I'm saying is, lets track our progress by pant sizes rather then weight that can change within times of the day and isn't your actual fat percentage....just a thought, doesn't have to happen but i feel its a more accurate way to lose the weight, if we stop starting at the scale, and freaking out that we've gained 5 lbs before we realize its muscle and we look slimmer none of us will suceed...we can do it though! good luck

i've been away for a couple of days but i was just reading the day-old posts and something disturbed me. first of all my boyfriend's sister took courses on altering photos and she shows me all of the fake places(which are a lot!) where they alter the pictures of models in magazines. in a lot of the day-old posts people are saYING how they cut out pics of models and want to look exactly like them. well- you can't, they don't even look exactly like themselves because their bodies have been changed. so don't set yourself up[ thining that you'll ever be able to look like that please...

I have been reading currently some of the recent posts with prideful outbursts such as "I have lost 2 pounds omg!" or "5 pounds off me! WHEEEE" Dont be over joyed. This is actually normal. Average person gains and loses around 2-5 pounds a day. Dont believe me? Step on the scale in the morning, then step on the scale after you had lunch, then after you had dinner. Also alot has to do with water. When you just start to exercise, the sweat (salty water) accounts for most of the weight loss, which is why you get dehydrated thus having to drink more. Water adds up quite the pounds, and going to the bathroom make you lose pounds also. Dont be fooled thought thats all im trying to say. True weight loss occurs with good eating habbits + regular exrcising per day. After a month or so you should see satifactible results.

-Alex

You could be gaining muscle, which looks terrible on the scale, but really is wonderful. The firm is lots of weight training so don't be suprise if the scale might even go up before it will eventually go down. the more muscle you get more fat u burn. Don't sweat it if that scale doesn't move very much, ur doing great. If ur still worried, then cheak portion sizes, but i would only do that if the scale doesn't move in oo about 2 more weeks. hope that helps~chelsea

how much you can lose - there isn't a standard weight loss. it's different for everyone. Also i feel that it's best that you don't have a deadline. If you look at each day as it's own it might be easier instead of thinking "i have ( _ ) many days until my deadline." because then you can get really stressed. Hope this helps!

looks like everybodys doin really good and thats great! i am happy to say that i am apart of that. today i didnt eat much but sumthin i ate must have upset my stomach because i ended up getting sick an to save u from the grossness u kno wut happens when u get sick to ur stomach but everything i ate was no longer there lol. i did my first day workout in my diet so far an i did the firm total body sculpt for 40 minutes. it was great! tomorrow im doing taebo. im trying to go more for inches rather than pounds because i wanna see the difference in myself an in my clothes more than wuts on the scale. does anyone think thats a bad idea? thanx to all for the continued support!

i have the same problem! i've lost 22 pounds but am still the same size! i mean- what we have done is a great accomplishment but i think that we both need to exersize specific muscle groups more and you should also do some cardio. i suggest taebo because it's fun for me and it gives you the best workout at least that i've tried. it is estimated that taebo burns 700 calories an hour- more or less for certain weights and sizes of people. but finding a workout that exersizes your stomach and thighs would be benificail and might help you lose that tummy if you keep with your diet and exersize. you'll probably lose weight a lot faster with adding in exersize too! good luck!

HI! I was about your weight or even more when I was your age. Last year I lost 20 pounds. I stopped drinking soda and exercised more. This year so far I've lost about 10 pounds. I still feel like I need to lose weight. ^^;
It takes a long time, but if you eat right and exercise it WILL work eventually.

if you diet alone you will lose weight but it will be in the form of muscle. If you diet and exercise you won't lose weight as quickly and you might put on a couple of pounds but you'll lose inches as muscle is heavier than fat but is denser, so you could lose 5 lbs and fit into size 8 jeans, or you could exercise everyday and put on 2 pounds from muscle but fit into size 6 jeans.

everyone's different- it's not possible to determine how much weight it'll take to look the way you want.(i've lost 21 pounds and i still haven't lost any inches from my trouble spot right above my hips) i suggest to just lose the weight slowly and stop when you're at the body that you like. good luck!

well- sometimes it's gaining muscle before losing the fat ontop and there might be other reasons like your womanly cycle of retaining water and stress will do it too. just keep at it- i know it's annoying but eventually it'll give...
