Get more active and into sports. You can also join a program that will help you watch your weight. If that isn't enough you could talk to your school nurse about it and see if she has any suggestions about it.
Thats what I did and I felt much better.

If you really gained that much weight in that short period of time, you might have some kind of medical condition...my friend gained a lot of weight real quickly, like you, and it turned out there was something wrong with her thyroid or something. Don't know exactly. Anyway, check it out with your parents and your doctor.

THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO LIFE THAN YOUR WEIGHT!! it's summer, so try to get some exercise in, and try to make healthy decisions when choosing what to eat. you should tell a doctor or parent if you are depressed. you might want medicine so you don't feel as depressed. it's not the end of the world if you can't lose weight, you have the rest of your life and you don't want to miss out! love, angel

Hey everyone! Just another little information-message to help out some people.
If anyone has noticed that their eating habits do not justify their weight (eg. you don't eat much but you put on weight rapidly) then you might have a thyroid problem. NOTE: This does NOT mean that if you already had a weight problem and are trying to get it off; there is some chance but not a lot. However, if you have always been a light eater and are fairly or even extremely active but you have found that you suddenly began to put on weight, as I said you might have a thyroid problem. I'm not going to go into the sicence of it here but its basically something that holds back your metabolism. Ask you doctor; they can do blood tests and see if there's anything there. Bye!

Why don't you speak to your councellor at school and have her talk to your mom. Perhaps then she will take you seriously! Good Luck

hey, i'm sorry to hear about your friend, i know it must've been really hard on you..have you thought of getting help? are you really depressed? because both my parents are psychiatrists..i know some things about that..cuz in a lot of cases, depression either leads to binge eating (what you might be doing now, eating because you're not happy and not being happy cuz you're eating...or even just thinking it doesn't matter anymore), or not eating at all (you lose the will to do anything)...and about the swimming, i'm on a swimteam too, i started 2 years ago..i used to weigh about 145ish, and now i weigh 128..no one thinks i'm the same person as before, i changed so much...and i enjoy it too!! i go 5-6 times a week for about 2 hours..try getting back into a sport, it does wonders and it helps if it's something yoou enjoy..i remember when i started it was SO hard..i was the slowest (not to... That can be a serious problem. If your doctor doesn't believe you, keep going to different ones who do. You are the only one who knows how you feel, and you should feel your best. In the mean time, try staying away from salty foods and a drink as much water as possible, and also try to exercise regularly. Lots of luv and good luck~Michelle

Like everyone else, I don't think diet pills are the way to go, they might seem like the 'easy way' but, most people just put the weight back on after they take them anyway. If you do decide you want to try diet pills, though, make sure you talk with your doctor about what kind is right for you, or even if you need them!! If the Doctor does perscribe some for you, make sure that you check all the chemicals in them, making sure there are no steroids, or thing that can react with other things you use. I hope you consider this carefully and do what is best for you. We're all here for you, good luck.
