I am very concerned about my 16 y.o. daughter. she always has been big, her last dr. appt weighed her at 198 pounds!(she is 5'4". I was so upset with her that she she weighed almost 200 lbs, I know I was very wrong and I apologized for that. Now, I am afraid shes has put on quite a bit more this year, but she REFUSES to go to her Doctor. her chest and her stomach are so incredibly large, I am always overhearing comments of strangers and even family ask if shes expecting a baby. I am so ashamed at myself because there are manytimes I am so humiliated, shes such a beautiful girl, its sad for me to see her holding her great big belly and eating all time. last week, we were painting the house so we all slept in the den, while she was sleeping her pj's had rolled up and I was in shock to see her lying there on her side, and she just had this enormous belly literally SPILLING out in front of her. i think she has to be 240 or maybe 250 lbs. she wont exercise because of the size of her chest, its very difficult for her. please any advice for me?

Hi! I have posted here before about my daughter. She is quite obese (last June she was 4.8 and weighted 208 pounds - but since then she has put on quite a few pounds again.) and I don't know how to help her anymore. She eats constantly and is getting bigger and bigger. She refuses to be weighted and so I don't weight her.

i have a 12 year old dd and her doctor has recommended weight watchers so im going to do this with her but i feel she needs kids her own age to help her and to cheer her on she is very sweet but just addicted to food and sometimes sneaks food without even realizing what she is doing. i have 4 girls from 14 to 5 and they are very emotional so if im dealling with one the other 3 feel left out just wanted my daughter to know that yes there are other children her age going at this to and that she is not alone

I worry so much about my 8 yr olds weight trouble, she is 175lbs at the age of 8. she towers over all the other kids her age and they can be very cruel. Her dad was a chubby kid but she has gone beyond chubby. I try very hard to reduce her food intake but how do you tell your child no when she cries that she is hungry. I have noticed that she eats just because; if her brother or sister is eating, she has to eat too. If My husband or I try to explain that she doesn't need to eat everytime someone is eating she cries and says mommy I can't help it. The whole family can afford to shed some pounds but with everyone's busy schedule we don't have or really make the time to exercise. I would like to set a family example exercising and eating right but it is so difficult. Does anyone have some suggestions. I'm desperate. I'm afraid that my daughter will become very ill.

I've not read any examples quite like my son's, and I know they're out there. Maybe my post will get a response. My son is 5'7" and 175 lbs. He has been "off the chart" with his height and weight since he was a baby. He was an average baby at birth (7 lbs 11 oz); but at the very first check-up he took off and was probably in the 97% even then. :o) He is VERY athletic and participates in Baseball and Basketball. Folks have suggested he play football since he was very young, but by the time he was interested, he already weighed too much to play on the youth leagues in our area. He also wears a size 12 shoe, and it was suggested by the doctor that there's a good chance he will grow to be 6'4". If you distribute the 175 lbs over a 6'4" frame that might not be too bad, and I still keep thinking he's going to hit that growth spurt; but it's also obvious that he needs to lose some... Hello everyone.I have been on the board before about my son Brian. He has Acantosis Nigricans. He is extremely obese and yes I know its my fault.I am not looking for sympathy from you parents I just want to tell you please have your children's blood levels check at there yearly physical. It was only because of the AN did our doctor do a complete blood work on him.He is pre-diabetic and has high liver enzymes which can lead to fatty liver disease. If he hadn't had that dark ring on his neck I would have never taken him in because other that that and his being obese he seemed happy and never complained. For those of you wondering Brian is 4'10 and is 165 lbs.Every day I come to this board looking for advice and see others looking for help.we will be going back to Duke's childrens hospital in north carolina in a few months for a rechecking of the blood work.He is being put on a low glycemic... I am scared. My daughter is a beautiful 14 year old who is over weight. She is about 5'4 and weighs about 185 pounds. She is nt motivated at all to do anything about it. She is not happy with her weight but refuses to exercise and eat healthy. I provide healthy meanls and snacks but she always goes back for more. I try to tell her without making her feel bad not to eat too much but she gets an attitude with me. I feel helples. In the last 2 years I lost almost 50 pounds by eating right and exercising. I thought by doing so it would motivate her into doing it. I tried to get hr to do it with me but again he attitude comes about and we end up fighting. I know she is not happy with herself. Her confidence is low. I have taken all my kids to dieticians in hopes it would help but it has not. My other kids do not have wieght problems. Please help with any suggestions.
Thanks you so much I am desperate.
