Don't get down on yourself for being overwieght. "Fat" is such a cruel word and when someone calls you that just tell them that they shouldnt judge you. And also loosing weight fast is not the anwser. You have to go slow and work. Start running just around your block or down your road or driveway. Eventualy you will be able to run more and more. I run 1 to 2 miles everynight and when I get down I feel greet I dont even care about my weight. You are aproaching this the wrong way. Weight loss and a hard earned thing. And after you get it off (the right way) You will be able to keep it off. And if the guy you like dosent like you for who you are. That just means that he isnt worth you time.

heres an overall post to everyone...as you all now its almost spring and it will be time to wear shorts and tank tops BUT for people, all the weight they want to lose wont come off by that time, so Im NOT going to post somethign on losing weight BUT on FEELING BETTER ABOUT YOUR BODY WHILE YOU NORMALLY WOULD FEEL HORRIABLE ABOUT IT...OK HERE WE GO...some songs I would suggest listening to when you are feeling down about yourself and your body (no matter if you hate the singer or w/e) Jessic Simpson-"In This Skin" and Martina Mcbrides "This Ones for the Girls" anything that is bouncy and upbeat but that doesnt talk about sexx, aka just steer clear from rap when you feel this way....I also suggest if your going to watch tv try for at least 5 minutes watching say the Disney channel, the news or somethign that doesnt promote sexx and beauty and maybe try then 10 minutes or so to give your... hey its me, im replaying to ur message. Well ive been doing it for 3 days and I feel energetic. I even feel skinnier, lol. I think i may have lost 1 or 2 pounds but its only been 3 days. Even today when i went to the mall with my skinny friend, I usually feel like crap compared to her and I just feel great. And the program isnt really extreme. It starts off with a nice warm up and then gradually works into a brisk walk. I love the cool down in the end because all of your muscles are warm and they strecth easily. I really do love "WAlk away the puonds", and when i got it I think it cost about $20. Which includes the 3 tapes: 1 mile, 2 mile , 3 mile, and the 2 weighted balls. I just smile in the end becauseit feels so great. Ill let ya know my weight progress. Bye

i'm so happy! marty wants to lose weight with me! i don't think there's anything wrong with his body but he's been gaining a lot of weight and is almost to 200. i'm excited because it'll be more fun losing weight with him. we've decided to do 30 minutes of ddr(dance dance revolution) a night and eat less. i'm also going to do another 30 minute workout every day though. i feel great because i just finished my first workout of the day and it feels really good to know what i acomplished. i went from not being able to jog for a full 5 minutes at a time to being able to jog 20 minutes at a time along with weights and ab work! i love treating my body like this! it's great to know how far i've come. and even though i don't look too much different physically i am very more controlled and happier emotionally and i know i can do whatever i put my mind to...

heres a message to all GIRLS. i notice that sumtimes when girls r overweight they forget about being feminine and they feel really ungirly because of their weight. but fun ways to keep u in touch with ur girly side are these: belly dance...it feels great and is amazing to watch no matter how u look..actually, any type of dancing that you'd never catch boys doing works!!!! another GREAT way to walk ur fat off is SHOPPING. take a trip to the mall for a whole day with ur best girls and go in like EVERY store. it doesnt matter what sizes the clothes are, just look at them and admire their variety. qo into accessory shops and sample perfume, or get your makeup done somewhere. you'll be walking SO much thatyou wont even REALIZE it. just stay away from the food court! you can also do the regular stuff like running and crunches and other excersizes...but afterwards, be sure to reward yourself with a manicure or pedicure!!! good luck and remember to stay a girl! ;)- LeYaNiSz

I have read a lot of posts lately and I just wanted to say that it looks like everyone who is trying to lose is not confident about it. For me, I always had a quote in mind. My favorite is "begin with the end in mind" and I think it is so appropriate. When you start your diet you have to begin with the confidence that you can do it. You have to find the strength to pull through all of it. Don't give up,begin with the end in mind. When you fall short of your goal, don't stop. Keep pushing until you cross the finish line. Good luck to everyone, I hope I have helped. Keep the faith, pebbles

id like to share a success story...when i was in 6th grade i was overweight like 150 n evry1 made fun of me...i had friends but i was unhappy with myself. over the summer between 6 and 7 grade i lost about 20 pounds n then i lost 5 more pounds all be4 school started...by dieting, bellydance and insane excersize. but im tellin you, it felt soo0o good. on the 1st day of school i was wearin a great new outfit and had a makeover done, and when i stepped into homeroom all the kids that knew me started clapping. i am much more confident now and have so many more friends and even boyfriends. YOU CAN DO IT TOO! LOSING WEIGHT CHANGED MY LIFE!

Well my target weight is about 190 pounds... thats the US Army standard for somebody my height and age.
Also, even if getting a girl friend isn't the case of my weightloss, it still is a HUGE relief off my mind. If i don't have to worry about what people think of me because im fat, that gives me a HUGE confidence boost and its one HUGE stress off my mind. Also i think if i can drop the excess fat, then i've already got the muscle for a nice six pack or some big-ol biceps lol. But a girlfriend isnt my main reason, its just one more factor that attributes to my motivation. I want to feel better physically and mentally, have more energy and endurance, and look better on a whole. Plus if I can get into shape for next football season I might have enough energy to play a game without having to be huffing and puffing all the way through it. On the subject of mostly girls being on this board, thats a big thing because there IS alot of pressure from the media and hollywood and such to look really good and be thin and such, but in the end you've got to do it for yourself.

Ht. 5'8", Start: 175 lb, Today: 160 lb (BMI %tile: 87), Goal: 150 lb - Recently I lost about 15 pounds...Today, I woke up and looked and the mirror and literally thought, "wow, who is this gorgeous girl". I mean...my self esteem was through the roof. Im not very big, 5'8 160, but i feel so refreshed. Being thin isnt about how you want to be portrayed by others...its how you want to portray yourself. After seeing how beautiful I really was, I was even more determined to lose weight. I need about 10 more pounds to be a size 5, and thats my goal. But right now, I think I've already reached my goal....loving myself. I know that some of you are not excepting yourselves, so thats why your losing weight. But you should except yourself before you do anything, because in the long run, losing weight wont make you feel any better about who you are. I hope I helped in some way....lol.
