I would recommend wearing shirts and dresses that cut just below the bust. Maxi dresses are great too, because they are fashionable but also loose fitting and long. I find that very tight tops are very unflattering on my tummy and so I try to stick with flowy sort of shirts with a pair of jeans. Try to wear clothes that flatter your best features- i.e if you have a flabby stomach but a nice chest wear something loose around the stomach area that gathers at the bust. Also you should try maternity clothing- don't be put off- there are lots of beautiful clothes that can fit really well there!

Ht. 5'6", Start: 271 lb, Today: 216 lb (BMI %tile: 98), Goal: 150 lb - A self-esteem booster for the ladies: When I was at my heaviest (and before and after that, too!), I felt miserable because I couldn't find fashionable clothes in my size. If you gals haven't checked out Lane Bryant, you should! It's a little pricey, but the clothes are fabulous and trendy and made to flatter full-figured women. Also, the people are very nice and extremely helpful...I always leave that store feeling like a supermodel. AND the women who work there are plus-size, too! I always get lots of compliments on my clothes, and it makes me actually feel a little better to mention a store that my friends can't shop at, instead of the other way around. They even have bras, underwear, and pajamas. And accessories. It's amazing, and it's just what I needed to feel beautiful while trying to reach another goal. Just because you aren't happy with your weight doesn't mean you have to feel ugly while you're trying to change it! www.lanebryant.com. Check it out, you'll be glad you did!

hi kayla,
my name is cynthia and i know exactly how you feel! you see i come from a family that lovveesss to eat! my dad's side of the family is all italian so that's a lot of carbs and cream sauces! haha and my mom's side of the family is irish, meaning lots of mashed potatoes and overall A LOT of food! i have been overweight most of my life, i'd say since i was in 4th or 5th grade. i have struggled through clothing troubles too. i hate hate HATE shopping for swim suits or any summer clothing for that matter. and i try to avoid it as much as possible. just like you, my best friend is a stick and is a size 4! i couldn't even touch that! i don't think i've ever been a 4! but she supports me and isn't condisending about my weight which really helps. i too have never had a boyfriend and i'm 16. i've gone through my fair share of crushes and they all seem to be the same type of guys,... Awwh hun, don't let yourself miss out on a fun time because you're self-conscious about your body! Try to get in at least a few good workouts before your trip and watch what you eat. You can wear a cute one piece with some cute shorts over it if you want to cover up a bit more. It would be fine. Also tips for right before your trip: limit salt intake, gum chewing, & soda drinking.. (it bloats you= stomach looks bigger.) & do squat jumps! they are tough but they are super effective in firming up your thighs!

I wear a size 20 pant and an XXL shirt and these are the following places that you need to look for clothes if you are 'of size' : Old Navy, Fashion Bug Regular/Plus, Kohl's, Torrid, Maurice's. Happy Shopping!!!

girls, want to know a great tip on finding well fitting chlothes? i know its emmbaressing, but i found that maternity chlothes fit SOOO much better and are a TON cuter than regular plus size chlothes. i normally wear XL adult, but i fit into SMALL maternity. MEDIUM was falling off me.

if you want to look skinnier sit and stand up straight. always hold your head up.also if you are overweight dont wear baggy shirts, it just makes you look bigger. wear shirts that go just below your waist. also wear pants that arent too lose but make sure they aren't too tight either. *Good Luck*

Try walking every day and night. At least 2 times a day. And a good place to shop for bigger clothes sizes (if you are into punk clothes) is Torrid. They have lots of clothes. Peace out.

misses and juniors are the same sizes except misses don't start until size 6. So if you are a 16 in misses you are a 16 in juniors. I think juniors usually go up to like 18 but some stores go up higher

I know exactly how you feel. I don't know if you have Old Navy, but if you do, they have extended sizes for jeans. If you're an internet shopper, u might want to check out gap.com and/or ae.com. Hope I helped. Good luck!

hey, ive got the same problem. i have a small waist, and i am very tall (5'7), but my chest is a D. it always makes me look bigger then i am, and it sucks. But, if you buy shirts that are solid, it will make your chest look way smaller. Hope i helped at least a little!
