My daughter Jen has recently gained a lto of weight. I know its pretty normal to gain about ten pounds a year, but Jen has gained about one hundred and ten pounds within the last six months. Jen refuses to go to the doctor, and had a fit when the nurse weighed her at school in front of her peers. I recieved a call at home from the school nurse notifying me that my daughter was severely overweight at 357 pounds at only five foot one. I was incredibly shocked, as I only weigh about ninety pounds. My daughter sleeps most of the weekends away, and I suspect eats heavily when she gets home from school. I find candy wrappers all over her bedroom and she never exercises. She has told me that she is doing very well in PE and has a small body weight percentage in health class, but after my first call form the nurse, I found it nessesary to look into this. According to her teacher, she did not... (view more)

My daughter was always a little heavy as a kid, but I never really worried about her weight, except that I tried to help her have a healthy diet. She started seeing her present boyfriend when she was about 14 and since then she has simply stopped listening to my advice about her diet. She has gained a huge amount of weight (she's 5'1" and now weighs 270lbs) but tells me that her boyfriend likes her chubby and that she doesn't see why she shouldn't eat what she enjoys. I am at my wit's end. Can you suggest anything?

parents pay a lot of part in the way their children act , so if your child is overweight something happened to them, wether a divorce, no friends , u need to sit down with them and talk and kids like me i know u know what im talking about , you take all your emotions and hide them inside and try to eat them away so when ur stomach hurts you dont think about them and you want to talk to someone about something but u just cant and before u know it your overweight wondering what's wrong-SPEAK UP

Hello! My daughter is absoluty beautiful! But there is only one thing wrong with her...its her weight. She is 5'10 and weighs 250 pounds. I hear her saying all the time that she is a failure and cant loose the weight. I aslo hear her saying that she wants to be able to wear juniors clothing. What size should she aim for? And how much weight should she loose! Do you have any tips are any thing that could maybe help her take that weight off? Thanks!

Today I took my daughter to the doctor for just her annual check up. She went in and did her thing, then at the end of it, the doctor called me from the waiting room, and shocked me by telling me that my 14 year old is weighing in at 197lbs. Last year she was at 159 which at that time was a little bit over what her ideal would be (the told us not to worry, she would grow out of it soon) and the year before that she was at 124. All the years before that she was right on target which where she should be. Now, I've noticed for awhile that my daughter has been chunkier then most of her peers, but my wife told me not to mention it to her, as it might upset her (nothing hurts worse then when your father tells you your fat she told me). The doctor told me that these excessive weight gains were putting hazards on her health since most if not all the 70lbs she has put in the last two years are... (view more)

Hi guys, First off, Happy Holidays! Well my daughter lost 20 lbs and now weights 120. Yet she think she needs to shed 10 more to be at her "ideal weight". Shes 5'2'' and very muscular. IS 110 is an ideal weight or 120? Hope to hear from you all soon! God bless.

My daughter is 165cm and 175lbs. I'm worried about her health but she gets very aggressive if I mention it. I've stopped buying 'goodies' and even set up a gym in my bedroom. She's not interested at all. Any ideas out there?

Myself and my wife are both overweight. We have three boys, but I am really writing about Jordan. His two brothers were always overweight, but Jordan was always "normal." He has been the star of his basketball team for two years now and he is 12 years old. He is about 5 feet tall. About 6 months ago he broke both of his legs and was out of commission for about 6 weeks. During this time, I noticed that he put on some weight, but it didn't look like much. (He had casts on his legs and wore t-shirts all the time) It wasn't till he was better that we really found out. He was getting dressed to go back to school for his first day back when he called me upstairs. He could not button his pants! We tried another pair and it was the same thing. After calming him down, he got on a scale and to my surprise he weighed 120 pounds. He put on 20 pounds in 6 weeks. I gave him pants from... (view more)
