Ht. 5'7", Start: 237 lb, Today: 145 lb (BMI: 23), Goal: 130 lb - Hi Everyone!
You might have seen me around the board occasionally - I've been around the site for about 8 or so years now but I've definitely outgrown the teens section. I really like reading & replying to your posts, but I don't really post anything of my own - so I'm here to introduce myself...
My name is Marina, I'm 23 and from Canada. I've always been healthy councious and loved fitness and sports and weighed a healthy 130lbs my entire life. Unfortunately, following some health problems which landed me in & out of the hospital for 5 years (with stays as long as 8 consecutive months) and on up to 13 different medications at one time, I ended up gaining a whopping 107lbs!
It was quite devestating and I was extremely self concious. However, I'm slowly getting back on track as I have now lost 92 of those pounds! It's been a long, hard road (as I know you all understand). ... (view more)

Ht. 5'8", Start: 225 lb, Today: 165 lb (BMI: 25), Goal: 150 lb - so it's been getting easier to avoid the scale. as much as i'd like to know what i've lost, i'm fine with seeing the difference in how my clothes fit me. my work uniform is gettin looser everytime i put them on. (i only work twice a week because of college, so i notice a difference every 5 days or so when i go to work). this weekend wasn't the greatest though.. kind of fell off the wagon so today i did 80 minutes of aerobics. i am SO sore, but it was worth it. i feel like i undid some damage. this week i'm going to go at it 100% and stay under 1400 calories and work out at least 4 days (30 mins minimum). Hope everyones doing awesome!

Ht. 5'4", Start: 248.5 lb, Today: 235.5 lb (BMI: 40), Goal: 170 lb - Okay...my writing has slowed down now that school has started but I am still on track. I have lost 13 pounds and although I don't really see myself getting smaller I do feel a lot better. I used to get heartburn really bad but for the last month I have not. Umm...getting up in the morning and working out is getting a lot easier and I plan on upping my time from 30 minutes to 40 minutes on February 1st. I wanted to work out once in the morning then once at night but after I get home from school I am exhausted its very hard to stay up past 8pm. So overall I am still in good spirits about losing this weight and I hope everyone else is too. Good luck to all!!!

Ht. 5'1", Start: 204 lb, Today: 123.4 lb (BMI: 23), Goal: 115 lb - Under 10 pounds to my goal weight, woohoo!
So I pretty much maintained at 127-128 from Thanksgiving-New Year's, and it's only been since I've come back from my vacation 3 wks ago that I've really gone back to my normal meal plan.
I've had this on and off again sickness for about 2 weeks now - can't figure out what it is, symptoms keep changing, lol - I'm thinking it was a cold and now it's strep =/, so I've been taking in a lot of tea and water which has probably helped me drop some of the weight, I dunno.
I'd like to get better though so I can start running again. There's another 5k in April I'd like to run. My husband and I are also planning on joining a gym in February to start getting toned for summer so I'm excited about that too.
Hope everyone got through the holidays unscathed and is doing well with their efforts =).

Ht. 5'8", Start: 225 lb, Today: 165 lb (BMI: 25), Goal: 150 lb - so still no clue what my weight truly is, but man have i been noticing a difference in my looks. my face looks a lot thinner, my collarbones (which normally stick out quite a bit) are even more obvious, as are my ribs and my hip bones. i just wish my friggen stomach fat would hurry up and go away. I'm apple shaped, so i carry most of my weight in my upper body, so its the hardest place for me to lose it. but obviously as i've lost weight over the last 3 years i've become more hour-glass shaped. i don't have a gut at all, my stomach is really flat its just flabby as all hell and its really soft mushy fat so when you wear anything remotely tight it shows lovehandles. One day theyll be gone lol So, what i've been doing is eating 4-5 small meals throughout the day, staying under 1500 calories (i usually stick to 1300-1400) and working out doing Dance aerobics for 35-50 minutes 3-4 days a... Ht. 5'2", Start: 265 lb, Today: 244 lb (BMI %tile: 98), Goal: 135 lb - Hey everyone, i've been doing insanity for the past month and a half. All i can say it woooooooooo insane workout it's amazing lol. I don't know how much weight i've lost but i have lost 3 inches of my arms, tummy, thighs, and hips combined. Not so much but an inch off is great for me especially in my hips. I have been eating little portions 3 to 4 times a day and drinking alot of water. My winter break is done and i'm a little scared to go back to campus but i know i can do this. I'll post up here my new weight soon lets hope it's 230 or lower =.... BTW keep going everyone this gets hard but as long as we keep our head high and take it one day at a time nothing can stop us from being the best we can be thanks =)

Ht. 5'8", Start: 225 lb, Today: 165 lb (BMI: 25), Goal: 150 lb - So for about... 3 weeks give or take i've been pretty serious about this weight loss thing. i've been trying to keep under 1500 calories a day and working out approximately 30-45 mins every other day. I have REFUSED to step on the scale until February 1st so i have no idea what my weight is... I used to weigh myself multiple times a day but thats so discouraging. If i dont see results i lose motivation and give up. so far so good though. i cracked down a little more the last few days because i wanted to really commit instead of just doing things as they come. I notice my stomach has gone down quite a bit and clothes are feeling looser. I can't wait to see where I'm at in February. Keep up the good work guys, and lets liven this friggen board up! its so dead!

Ht. 5'4", Start: 248.5 lb, Today: 238.5 lb (BMI: 41), Goal: 170 lb - Class starts tomorrow and I am uber excited. I am attending the culinary program at my local community college and my first thought was well how the heck are you going to be able to control yourself around all that food. But then I realized taking these classes will give me a greater appreciation for food and they will give me the skills to create healthy, delicious, homemade foods.
On another note, today was my official weight in day and I am down 10 pounds! I could not be happier, but I really need to stop the horrible habit of weighing myself every morning. Like I did before I am going to get all caught up in numbers and not appreciate how my body feels. I don't feel my clothes getting looser but I am a bowler and I have noticed my fingers won't stay in the ball. I guess I am just losing the weight in my fingers first which is fine.
So a question to everyone, and if it... (view more)

Ht. 5'4", Start: 248.5 lb, Today: 240 lb (BMI: 41), Goal: 170 lb - Writing again! I don't know if people are reading and not writing or no one is even reading all the posts at all. But I will keep writing because even if no one is reading it helps me to get through the hard and good times of this journey.
So last time I posted I said I was going to try and start working out at night BUT I haven't done it yet. Some how I still was able to drop another 1 1/2 pounds! I am so proud of myself! I like picking up one of my 5 pound weights and thinking "I have lost more than how much this weighs" and it is really amazing. Class starts Tuesday and I really think being busy during the day will help the pounds come off faster and easier.
I think that is it for now, Good luck on your weight loss journey to all who is reading this!

Ht. 5'4", Start: 248.5 lb, Today: 241.5 lb (BMI: 41), Goal: 170 lb - It has been 10 days since I started my new life and it is hard. I woke up this morning thinking I DO NOT want to get on the oliptical machine. But, I got up and did it anyway because being overweight is a lot harder than getting on that machine everyday for 30 minutes. Controlling my calories is becoming more natural rather than a struggle so that is good. I think the next step I want to take is exercising 30 minutes at night too. So overall I have been feeling better, I have not had heartburn once since I started my new life and I am very thankful for that! Good luck to all on your journey :) Kayla

Ht. 5'4", Start: 155 lb, Today: 155 lb (BMI %tile: 86), Goal: 115 lb - Hey. Im Theresa. I probably havent been on this site since I was 14. I use to go by Tag or Tagatha if anyone remembers me from that long ago:). I got down to 107 pounds four years ago but since then have kept gianing. I love the support you get on this site so I decided to come back. Ever since I lost a lot of weight I gianed it all back. Lucky for me I havent gone back to my heaviest weight of 180. I remember feeling so self concious when I was 13 because of that and being made fun of a lot. I am in college now. At the start of college in Septmeber I was 142.4. Now I am back up in the 150's. I decided to start a diet with low carbs and fats and eat mainly fruit. Well I am here if anyone wants to talk. I also love hearing feed back and giving support. xoxo Theresa

Ht. 5'4", Start: 248.5 lb, Today: 242 lb (BMI: 42), Goal: 170 lb - Here I am on this site once again! I used this site to help me lose weight before but was unfortunately unable to keep it off.
I am 5 days in on my new journey and so far my spirits are high. I am really coming to terms with the fact that food addiction is real and that I suffer from it. For so long all I could think about is food, I lived my day by what are we eating for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I had a real bad habit of purging at night when no one is watching.
After I watched the series premiere of "I Used To Be Fat" on MTV I decided to challenge myself. I want to lose 90 pounds by June 1st. I think I want and need it so much it is absolutely achievable.
Best wishes to all of you on your weight loss journey :)

Ht. 5'9", Start: 325 lb, Today: 325 lb (BMI %tile: 98) - Does the Calorie diet really work? If i do decide to do the calorie diet does the calories depend on the type of food or the number? Ex. does it matter if i pick a burger that is 440 or a salad that is 440??
