Ht. 5'3", Start: 230 lb, Today: 230 lb (BMI %tile: 98), Goal: 150 lb - Me being overweight began when I was only 9 years old. My mom married my stepdad, had twins & I began to become very depressed. I started gaining weight nonstop. My stepdad would offend not only me but my mom & sisters. He would call us fat, balloons, pigs... In order to cope with his offensive comments, I would eat anything I could find. By the time I reached 6th grade I was already 145 lbs. I was introduced to french fries, brownies, pizza bread, chips, & soda. I was never really teased about being overweight. My friends were all overweight. I was actually considered "skinny" when I hung out with them because they were "bigger" than me, but I didn't feel skinny. By the time I reached high school I was 170 lbs. My weight stayed at 170 lbs until my junior year when I no longer had gym class. Between Junior and Senior year I gained... (view more)

Ht. 5'11.5", Start: 280 lb, Today: 262 lb (BMI: 36), Goal: 220 lb - Hey guys,
A neat idea to help out with Thanksgiving is to have it buffet style. Have all the food in another room, like the kitchen then everyone dishes their one plate of food and then everyone eats in a different room. Try to get everything you want on that one plate because it'll be easy to overeat if you go back for more. Lastly, try talking with people around you, don't focus entirely on the food. The more conversation you're making the slower you're eating and more likely to not overeat. For dessert, either have your mom or someone else dish you some or only take a small plate through the buffet of dessert.
Good luck guys with thanksgiving and I hope you don't feel stuffed.

Ht. 5'8", Start: 225 lb, Today: 162 lb (BMI: 25), Goal: 150 lb - Well this sucks. I've been struggling for the last 5 months (since my boyfriend and I moved into our own apartment). I was 153 when we moved in, and ive gained about 9lbs since. BOGUS! I think it's because we hardly ate when we were at his moms, because she never did groceries and we'd eat out 1 meal a day and not really eat anything else. so for the 2nd time in my life I lost and re-gained the same 10lbs because I went about losing it the WRONG WAY. I'm determined to get back down to 153, and even lower to 150 so I can be comfortable in my clothes again!

Ht. 5'1", Start: 165 lb, Today: 165 lb (BMI: 31), Goal: 120 lb - Hi I have been struggling with my weight since I was 10. Since that age I have always been considered obese. For a while I succeed in eating healthy with the correct portions and exercised daily but saw almost no results. The 10 lbs I lost were gained back along with 10 more pounds. Im going through this cycle where I work so hard loose a few pounds get dissapointed and then gain back the little i lost plus more. I just need any advise i can get other than dont give up. Im sick of looking in the mirror and seeing my stomach hanging over my jeans and huge thighs. Im disgusted by my image. I need to find motivation somewhere. Help :(

Ht. 5'5", Start: 173 lb, Today: 149 lb (BMI: 25), Goal: 130 lb - Just a random piece of information I thought I would share with you all. It may be helpful for those of you who are trying to lose weight to record your measurements rather than simply rely on a scale. I would get very discouraged when I would step onto my bathroom scale and the numbers wouldn't budge. Once I started taking my measurements using a measuring tape I could see the inches drop even when the number on the scale would remain the same. I was able to see that I was losing fat, but I was also gaining muscle. My added muscle was the reason the numbers stayed the same for so long. I have only lost 12 pounds since January, but that does not tell the entire story. Using my measurements I can calculate that I have went from 42% body fat to 26% body fat. This means I have changed 29 pounds on my body. I have lost 12 pounds of fat and gained 17 pounds of muscle!
Any ways, I ... (view more)

Ht. 5'11.5", Start: 280 lb, Today: 274 lb (BMI: 38), Goal: 220 lb - Hi,
I didn't know this was active. I need some help motivating myself to go out. I did a little longboarding two weeks ago before I fell twice and broke my helmet.
I'm doing a weekly kickball game but that isn't enough. My university gives me a free membership to gym but it's far away and I'm not in that area for a lot of time.
Any suggestions?
Sulay

Ht. 5'7", Start: 321 lb, Today: 316 lb (BMI %tile: 98), Goal: 160 lb - I just recently started my weight loss journey three weeks ago and its been really tough! Its been hard to think positive about it all when my family is skinny and I feel like they don't really understand what I'm going through even though I know they try.
My doctor introduced my to this site and I'm hoping it'll help.
Does anyone have any advice on how to keep positive about it?
