Ht. 5'6", Start: 255 lb, Today: 230 lb (BMI: 37), Goal: 160 lb - Sometimes I feel so down about what I see in the mirror. I watch movies and see how appealing it is to be in shape and it inspires me to work out and eat right. Then, again, I see what I have to work with and it's heartbreaking. I've been on a mission to get healthy for what seems like forever now and my success rate is low. I live in a stressful household which I believe has a lot to do with my weight gain. My siblings eat junk on the daily and our food options are junk. Does anyone have any advice on weight loss? Something I haven't seen on google? Thank you for your help in advance.

Lead by example! I know it is tough having to go against the current in your own home but think of it as an opportunity to break new, healthier, grounds in your family.
You can use plastic baggies to portion control your snacks, and start eating small regular meals everyday. Exercise is key. If you are having trouble keeping away from certain foods then literally distance yourself from them, go on a long walk. Eat until you are content, not necessarily full.
Though all of my advice could easily be found on the internet along with a plethora of other things I just want to personally say to you that you are already a beautiful, wonderful person and what you have to work with is, yes, a starting point, but also a version of yourself that you need to learn to love in order to help yourself. You are absolutely deserving of all your dreams, and I wish you the best of luck.

Hey :) I know how hard it can be to try to lose weight when your family doesn't share that view. To me, the best way to lose weight is to eat healthier. Portion control does help too, but some people don't overeat. Sometimes it's just what we eat that makes us unhealthy. Switching to more fruits and vegetables is excellent. Also, eating whole grains (whole grain bread, pasta, etc.) instead of refined, processed foods (cake, doughnuts, etc.) really helps. Eliminating sodas and drinking mostly water will help a lot as well. Simple exercise helps you get fit and healthy. If you eat healthier and exercise for about 15 minutes a day, I guarantee you'll see positive results. If it's really hard to do this in your household environment, a weightloss buddy would probably be a very good thing to help encourage you. :) I hope this helps!
