I started my freshman year of high school weighing 480 pounds. It was very tough; I had to deal with teasing, bullying, and horrific harassment. The weight hindered me socially and academically; in fact, I was embarrassed to even attend school most of my freshman year. My grades were horrible and I had an extremely low self-esteem. I couldn’t take being that state anymore; it was too much on me mentally and physically. On certain days I didn’t feel like even living or that I even deserved to. People treated me like an outcast just because I was different from them. That hurt me so much inside; I hated how my life was. I decided to change my life at the end of my sophomore year. My freshman year the coach had approached me about playing but I didn’t want to the end of my sophomore year I approached the coach and said: I think it’s time I join the team.

Start: Ht. 5'10", 265 lb ( BMI %tile: 98)    Today: Ht. 5'10", 134 lb (BMI %tile: 25) - I am 16 years old and about a year ago maybe a little less I was really overweight I weighed 265 lbs. Which wasn't no surprise compared to the way i eat always going to buffets and eating rolls of cookie dough and bags of chips all the time. Every year I would always tell myself that this was it no more being fat I am going to lose it and be healthy like other people but every year it always came back because every time I started it my family would always go out to eat and get junk food and i would fall for the temptation but about two weeks before Halloween I said that when ever New Years came I would no matter what I was going to lose it but as that day was progressing I thought to myself why wait all that time. Why not start now so I know that I will do it and not forget about it so the next day it started at first I did what most people do I cut out all red meat and all the... (view more)

Losing weight was the best thing that ever happened to me! Even though I still have to lose 10kgs, I feel amazing! I exercise and I feel great and you can too!
Every time you go to eat junk food think about what it is doing to you! How does that make you feel.. And yes it's going to be hard and sometimes you want to give up but you just have to keep pushing through and just think after I lose my weight I can have a small piece of this or that!
Just try eating healthy and exercise even if its half an hour a day.. And increase your daily activities slowly.. Maybe join a gym or exercise group (no one will judge you so don't be scared) You always have to start from the bottom and work your way up! Remember even if its baby steps your doing better than yesterday!
Good luck to everyone! Remember no one said it would be easy they said in the end it will be worth it!!  (Note: 164.8 cm, 84.5 kg is 5'4.9", 186.291 lb.)

Start: Ht. 5'5", 153 lb ( BMI %tile: 91)    Today: Ht. 5'5", 142 lb (BMI %tile: 84) - I tried to lose weight a year before and got nowhere. Then I went camping this year and ate like **** and went from 150-153 in 5 days :(. Made a decision when I came back and I Started eating much healthier and golfing everyday. (Carrying my bag.) It's been just under a month since camping an I'm at 142. I don't see a difference yet but I hope too soon. No real goal but whenever I think I look like I'm favoring the slim side I'm going to start working out and eating a bit more calories to build some muscle. Helpful tip: Slimfit oatmeal w/ banana is great breakfast item. Only 200 calories!

Start: Ht. 5'3", 200 lb ( BMI %tile: 98)    Today: Ht. 5'3.5", 149 lb (BMI %tile: 87) - Being a new girl to a school because having to move from your old school because you where always the one being picked on about your weight can be such a terrible thing and it all happened to me. I realized me moving to a new school for the year 2011-2012 could be the same exact thing if I did not make a change for myself. I began the year fine, but I was still self conscious about my weight. I decided to try out for basketball and I went to the doctors to get my physical done and I stepped on that scale and seeing that 200 lb number scared me horribly. I knew from that point on there needed to be a change for my health, but also for myself. I needed to feel and wanted to be proud of my body and not walk around being ashamed of who I was. Summer finally came around and I joined a gym and changed my whole entire life style from the way I ate and how active I was. I worked out every single... (view more)
