I have always struggled with my weight and i guess it was in my genes. My dad always says how big he was when he was young but when i look at old pictures of him i wanna cry. I really was huge. I am not proud to call myself an emotional eater but i know i am in one year after my best friend moved away i went from the 150's (even though i was already overweight) to over 190 at only like 5 2 i knew i needed to make a change so i thought you're 14 and you can barely run a 1/2 mile you need to make a change plus you really wanna get that hot body so i did it and since last september i have gotten down from 198 to 166 and i know that i have a long way to go but i know that all i have to say is wwasd (what would a skinny girl do) lol good luck

well, i have been losing weight lately!!! im 5'8 and weigh 151 and losing. i guess u could say that my secret is being very active (lifestyle change) and doing some situps (i dont really count), which really work. i eat around 1500 (or so) calories a day, with no snacks, just meals (cereal is GREAT in the morning). i still dont like my weight, but others around me laugh when i say that, and i dont quite get why. they all say that i look like a weight around (averaged) 135 pounds, but it is probably because of my height. im gonna keep working to a better weight, and good luck to everyone else!!!

All I can say is WILLPOWER. It's freaking hard to attain and even harder to keep. I've been starting diets, staying on them a few days, and breaking them for three years. I was even bulimic at some point in time. I would get off the diet binge horribly and then purge everything. Finally I decided enough was enough. I am a swimmer and before it started I weighed 200 pounds. After the season ended I had only lost about 10 maybe 12 pounds. Even though I was doing daily 2 or three hour workouts, all the eating cancelled out the exercise. I used to go home and eat and eat and eat and purge. But it never helped. Just made my breath smell bad.
Finally after fall break I decided enough was a enough. I started going on sporadic runs and drastically changed my eating habits. Sweets were totally out of the question to me. I of course had to make an exception for christmas and my recent... (view more)

HELLO MY NAME IS DAVID I WAS 250LBS NOW I'M 195LBS I ADMIT LOSING WEIGHT IS A STRUGGLE BUT HERE'S HOW U DO IT REPLACE THOSE BAD FOODS WITH GOOD FOODS INSTEAD OF EATING THREE BAGS OF CHIPS EAT THREE ORANGES I DID THIS FOR AWHILE WALKED JOGGED LOST 10LBS 151LBS THEN COULDN'T LOSE ANYMORE IT WAS TIME FOR A CHANGE SO I STARTED A MORE DIFFICULT WORKOUT LOST 10LBS MORE THEN I CAN BECAME STUCK ON THE LAST 40LBS AND STILL AM BUT IM THINKING OF NEW WASY TO GET THROUGH IT AND WN'T GIVE UP NOW I'M TACKLING MY DIET AND SELF ESTEEM ONCE I ACHIEVE THAT I KNOW I'LL LOSE THE LAST 40LBS

I have been overweight my entire life, after I graduated in 2007, I decided to make a change in my life, and lose weight. I began to eat less, and healthier, and exercise more, and I feel better than I ever have in my life. At 5'10 I have gone from weighing 280 pounds less than a year ago, to currently weighing 175 pounds. I never thought I would ever be able to accomplish something like this, it just goes to show that if you really set your mind to something, you can do it. Also, a bit of advice for anyone out there trying to lose weight, don't give up. Keep working at it, and eventually you will come to your goals. Don't just accept the fact that you are overweight, thinking you always will be, and there is nothing you can do about it, because that just isn't true. I lived with that thought for 17 years. i was pretty chubby in middle school, but i managed to loose it all and get in shape in high school. im in college now, studying nutrition and families and also journalism. someday i want to help kids battle obesity.
so... heres my advice:
first, stop treating this like a diet, with rules and stuff. this is life, and you cant base your life off your diet, base your diet off your life.
second, take the word "cheat" out of your vocab, it will make you feel bad. when you beat yourself up about what you ate or if you didnt excercise, you will eventually give up. take out "diet" as well, like i said, this is life.
know yourself, and dont deny yourself what you love. i know that if i erased ice cream and jimmy johns from my diet id go nutz, instead i balance those things. if i want my jimmy johns vegitarian club (which is NOT healthy, keep in mind) with my salt ... (view more)

Weight was a very diffcult thing to overcome or even talk about. I use to lie about my weight, but it didn't make me feel good, I would try to starve myself, made me feel even worse.I am a 12-year-old-girl from Missouri. I used to be 140, and at 5"0 (5 Foot). I was ''OBESED'', witch made myself feel like an outsider. I started the Special-K diet. I am proud to say I lost 12 pounds using it, but I gave up and quickly (before gaining any weight)took on another one. I soon began to bring rye turkey sandwitches, pretzels, and fruit for lunch, with fruit for breakfast or course, and ate a light dinner like pizza and salad, griled chicken cesar salad, soups, stuff like that. I am happy and still going, I curretnly weight 115,I have lost over 20 pounds in less than 4 months.

helloe my name is joann when i was a little girl i was really skiny, i kpt on being skiny, through my childhood, i came to the us when i was 9 years old school was a little hard, i was in the fifth grade everythintg was okay until i was got to high school, in ninth graade i had a nice body, but i notice somethingwrong when i went to tenth grade, my stomach was getting bigger everytime and i began to get some fat in my legs, and then i notice i began to gain wait i didnt really cared then i kept on geining even more weight everytime, until i got to a point where i weighte 300 pounds, my self steem went down, my friends didn't talk to me any more . but one day i decided to loose weight but it never worked, i was on my roo all day, did'nt ate anything, being sorry for doing this to myself, i feinted daily, my body needed food, but then i thought if i eat, i'm gonna be a whale, but then my... i used to eat alot and i was really big id say 5 3 191 But then as i did wrestling my coach helped me and i only ate big salads for lunch and one plate for dinner. So with that diet and wrestling i am 5 7 146 and skinny and normal.

I reached my goal by eating healthy and doing excersise. I stay away from fatty foods and sitting aroung doing nothing. I've lost 10 pounds within the past year. I'm starting to get abs. I went from 122 to 112 in a year. It went up and down at first but now it is steady at 112 pounds

I used to be about 138 pounds, and only 5ft tall but now I am 5'1.5ft tall and 103 pds. I ate healthy,I didnt cut my calories that much but I excercised for 30 minutes a day. Im in gymnastics now so I have to eat about 1800 calories a day 2 be strong enough. I feel a lot better about myself now that I weigh less. Good luck to all people trying to loose weight, I know you can do it.
