My Story---and My Advice I am a twin. I have a twin brother. Both of my brothers are really athletic and such, and they've managed to keep a decent weight. Not too flabby, not too muscular. But my dad, my mom, my sister and I have some how ended up overweight...Of course this is because we refrain from tons of physical activity. My parents don't buy lots of healthy food, and it gets hard to find something healthy to eat. Yeah, they buy wheat bread, fruits, vegetables, lean meats, milk etc... but it's the tempting stuff that you notice...the chips, chocolate, soda, left-over takeout etc... I think that if my parents had bought healthier food when I was young I don't think I would've ended up this way...I wouldn't be an emotional eater...Now I know it's not fair to blame them...but sometimes it seems like the only reason I ended up this way...that and they've knocked my... Parents: Buy healthy food for your children! Don't buy that absurdly delicious fatty crap. And if you're children are overweight, approach the subject gently. Children don't like hearing they're fat. If you're not careful, you'll just be like the kids at school- ruining their self esteem. Kids: If your parents do approach the "I think you should lose some weight" subject, be easy on them, they care about you, that's why they mention it. They just want what's best for you. And being healthy is what's best. And if your parents couldn't care less about your health, then you've got to take control and resist tempting foods-craving something sweet? You want that chocolate up in the cupboard? NO--go make a strawberry smoothie or eat an apple. Tell your parents you want healthier foods in the house, they'll most likely grant your wishes--instead just go grocery shopping with them...and be sure to keep out the bad stuff. Hope this helps :D (view less)

Ht. 5'8", Start: 225 lb, Today: 170 lb (BMI: 26), Goal: 160 lb - Hey guys! and welcome back Claire :) (i was wondering where you went!) I've been dieting and exercising minimally when i can find the time for about a week now, and ive lost 5 pounds of water/fat that i had gained. great. so back to square one. im finding it hard to get into the 160s again. i was 167 this summer but quickly shot back up (i lost it the bad way, by hardly eating due to stress and being busy) so i guess thats why it didnt stay off! oh well. ive been doing awesome with my eating. my goal is to lose minimum 1 pound per week until a wedding i have to go to in July. that will bring me to my mini goal of 160 (my ultimate goal is 145-150). does anyone find that jogging helps to lose weight? and if so, how long should i jog for? 20-30 mins? im not good with the exercise, just the eating lol anyways hope everyone is doing amazing. good luck! :)

Ht. 5'4", Start: 210 lb, Today: 174 lb (BMI %tile: 93), Goal: 140 lb - Hey, I haven't been here in ages....does anyone remember me? lol probably not. Well, I'm still 174 lbs! actually I was 175...but what's the difference. ANyway, so I've been starting to work out again. I really have to get back on track and am hoping to lose 20 lbs as soon as possible (I know it takes time but I want to take it off forever). I got down to 159 once and then shot back up again but I cannot let myself go back to 210 ever! so I'm working extra hard now to get down to atleast 160 soon and then see where it goes from there. Also, I'm reaelly inspired by the show The Biggest Loser (I LOVE this show! and I love the trainer, Bob!) it is so so inspiring to see how hard they work on that show and how much weight they lose. Anyway this got pretty long...hope everyone is doing well! remember it will take time and results don't happen overnight...keep working hard, don't lose focus and don't let anyone mess you up! take care~ :)

Ht. 5'0", Start: 228 lb, Today: 204 lb (BMI %tile: 98), Goal: 170 lb - So far I have lost about 24 lbs! I can't really tell but the scale says so lol. I'm trying really hard to lose this weight and I don't know why but it seems easier lately.. I try to find something to do when I'm bored instead of eat because I would get bored and eat.. I portion my meals so I don't eat to much and I stop when I'm full not OVER full. I do a lot of walking so that helps a lot I'm also thinking about doing some workout videos that I have. How is everyone doing? Good Luck. =)
