Well, this isn't exactly a success story... not yet anyway. I am 15 yrs. old, and I feel very overweight. I'm not comfortable with sharing how much I weigh right now, but I definitely could lose some pounds. I've been an overweight kid since about 5th grade, and every year I seemed to weigh more and more. I was completely disgusted with myself, and I wondered how could ANYone gain so much over time this way?! Well, finally, in the 9th grade now, I've decided to DO something about it. I have started a program called Weight Watchers, and I've only been with it for a week, but it's actually a really good program. It really just teaches you food management, and that it's all about HOW much, and WHAT you eat, and WHEN you eat it, and that exercise is key in losing weight. I forgot to weigh myself when I started, so this will be the week that really counts. I'll keep updating on how much I lose, if any, every week but until then, if anyone has any exercise suggestions for me, please share them it would be a big help! (view less)

Hey all... wow this is really embarassing... I should just get off the computer and do something interesting.. but here I am... I wanna lose weight. I'm 5'6", and I weight 185lbs, my healthy weight should be around 150lbs... but I've always been over the norm, it runs in the family, on my mom's side, her sister is HUGE, like REALLY obese, and on my dad's side, all the women have big bones, like really, like picture, i dunno... Vikings... you know REALLY thick bones... (at least I wont get osteoporosis). Then there's diabetes, my aunt(maternal), dad and grandpa (paternal) have it... I've inherited the bones... so im really strong, but im afraid on turning into a THICK boned version of my aunt... so I try to lose weight... I want to be healthy... I've tried many things... I lost 10lbs during sept and xmas... but around quebec... there's SO much fatty foods at the holidays... its GROSS... but its a tradition... so I gained it back... I dont know if I will EVER be able to catch up to what I should weigh... do you think I CAN lose weight even considering family history?
Hi, I just wanted to tell you that alot of women in my family are bigboned or overweight and I am like 10 pounds overweight and I allready lost some weight so If you really want to lose weight you have to work hard for it and it really doesn't matter if you have thick bones because you can still try to get a healthy weight. Today: 137 lb, Goal: 115 lb - Right now is a GREAT time to set goals for summer, it give you plenty of time to achieve them. By writing down your goal, it makes you more responisible, feel free to leave your goal as a comment on this post, I'd love to hear it. I am 137 pounds and I would like to be 115 pounds by May 1st. Honey, believe me, if you're overweight and have been all your life not eating is not going to work. If controlling your appetite is hard to do, how can you stop eating??? I see you have started to look for help, that's a good start. Why don't you tell you're parents to take you to a dietitian? Loosing weight is something that has to be done by yourself, you don't force people to help you. Just don't stop trying ok? Cya ;-)

OMG PPL WHAT IS GOING ON? If you want to lose weight it has to be on your own
change the way you think about food and instead of watching tv go for a walk.

hey, I just want you all to know, you can do it! Dont listen to what ANYONE else says, they are just caught up with them selves. When I was 12, I weighted 237 lbs. I am now down to 125. All you have to do is be active! Instead of watching t.v., take a walk. When you want something sweet, dont deprive yourself of it, but dont have alot. just remember, the secret to losing weight is a simple, three letter word. TRY. it isnt hard! Just get of the couch, turn off the t.v. or computer and move around! You can do it! I did... and I thought I couldnt either. I used to be a big fat kid just like you guys, and I am set to run my FIRST half marathon this week. I am going to do good too! Dont care what anyone thinks of you, I know it is hard, but you can do it. just try.

Can someone please help me. Im 4 ft and weigh 150. My waist is 44. I just ate 3 noble cheesburgers with fires at Birger King. All my brother does is call me fatty boy and just tries to get me fatter. Yesterday he bought me 2 chocolate sundays. I need to lose weight real bad. My parents are thinking of a fat farm for me. Help

Remember...even though you want to stop dieting and binge out on cookies dough...(coughMEcough) you are the only one in control of what you do or DO NOT eat. No one can force you to eat fattening food and make you gain weight. This is your body. Hey samantha, i read the other replies and i just found them really insensitive. The first thing i thought when i read your entry was i can relate to how your feeling but i know saying that you think of killing yourself means you are at an ultimate low. I found it terrible that all other people could say to you for support is "how tall are you" I have some suggestions, if your interested - its hard to stick to diets and its good you play a sport but that might not be enough. If its your mom who controls your diet its probably not the best plan. It has to be you who takes control and decides when you eat what, that way you are the one showing motivation, not someone else doing it for you. Good luck!

Hi, Im 13 and am 5 feet 8 inches tall andweigh 149lbs. I have I large roll with a med sized one on top it and a small one on the verry top. I wear a size 30-33 pants. When I ended school I weighed 139 some how I put on 10 lbs at one point in the summer i was 156 but that left soon. Iwalk arount with my belly suked in. How can I loose 10-15 lbs? I look small but im big in my belly my belly extends from my ches 2.5 inches but nothig hangs it just stics out. Help NICK
