i used to be 220 pounds but then i started eating right and exercising and i am now 169 pounds i am very proud of myself and i am not going to lie to you if you are barelly starting there will be some tough times ahead but just go through them and whenever your tempted to eat something not good for you just think of how you will feel after you feel empty inside and ugly and jsut imagine all those kids you make fun of you.prove them wrong instead of fast food eat veggies and fruits and good stuff like that weight loss is not all about exercising it is even more in your head than anything else so keep at it and stay happy.

I was never really overweight to begin with, just out of shape. I lost 13 ibs.. take it really slow, like a few walks around the block and keep building up. The bike was really helpful for me just measure a mile in your neighborhood and set goals for yourself based off of that. At first I walked a half block then I started the whole block before long I was riding my bike six miles every day. Try to keep sweets as far away as possible. Ask your Mom to either hide them or stop buying them. Eat three meals a day with bread, meat, and some kind of fruit or veggie. Always look at calories on the back. Low-fat and Sugar-free foods help a ton. Great snacks are pretzels, or baked chips. Good luck!

Hi. I used to be twenty to thirty pounds overweight but with my dad's healthy eating program, I lost most of it. I just wanted to say that anyone who is overweight I have a simple solution for you:
If you want candy or bread, go exersize instead.

From Shayna, Age 10, female - 12/10/03 - IP#:
I was a little bit over 80 pounds and a little bit over four feet tall! I really don't want to measure my weight, I want to measure my BMI (body mass index.)So I was in the 92 percentile and now I am in the 36 percentile!
When I was in the 92 percentile, I was sneaking candy and bread and cookies like crazy. Now at school I am known as the "Healthy eating person."
My parents knew I was overweight and they were trying to help me. I knew I was overweight too from looking in the mirror.
When my dad found a news article on July seventh 2002, me and him suddenly dropped most things with starch, sucrose (sugar) and put in fructose (fruit sugar) and dropped saturated fats. He has lost over 60 pounds and I have lost about 8 but have gained many inches in height! (THats where the BMI comes in.)
A few months later, my mom decided to eat like us and she started losing weight... (view more)

OKay before I lost the weight I was 5'4 and 180 pounds! I was so unhappy with myself so I made the choice to lose weight. What I did was stop eating after 7 p.m. I started eating more whole-grain foods and had alot mor veggies i also started runnin 20-30 minutes 4 times a week and in 4 months I lost 40 pounds! That is 10 pounds each month. I feel so much better. I am happier and healthier. I am 5'5 and 140 pounds and since I am 1 inch taller I look even thinner!

From Suzanne, Age 17, female - 12/09/03 - IP#:
Wewll I have always been a big girl. In grade schoole I was like 130-140 pounds. but when I was 14 I really started gaining weight. I didn't want what my mom cooked for dinner and I would go out with friends and eat loads of junkfood like taco's, shakes, and fries I was really bad. I ended up at 5'9 and 247 pounds! Finally I knew what I was doing to myself my mom took me to see my doctor and I asked her for diet pills to help me lose weight. She refused to give them to me and gave me a lecture on diet and exercise instead. I took what she had to say at heart And I was determined to lose weight and satrted small changes. I stopped the fast food habit and had mom's food again. I gave up soda and red meat. And I started wlking for 10 minutes and workedd up to an hour. I also added push-ups, sit-ups and pull-ups. I lost 97 pounds becaue of the choices I made and I am now a healthy 150 pounds! I feel great! To the rest of you trying to lose weight GOOD LUCK!!!!!
