weight loss is a long process...You will be able to do it, the healthy amount of weight to loose / week is 2-3 ponds. The healthier you are about it the longer it will stay off. You have to remebr that loosing weight is a life style change, not an easy fix! Be good to yourself, count calories, exercise (even if its just walking around your neighborhood a few times or getting an exercise tape and do it in your room) once you start loosing weight you wont want to stop, make it fun. Set a goal and when you get down to it treat yourself but not with food! for example like when you loose 20 pounds take yourself out to a movie...ect. If you do it healthy and watch your caloric intake and exercise daily you will see a drastic decrease in weight and an increase in self-esteem! Keep at it! It is tought but in the end it is all worth it! Good luck!

Drink lots of water and walk, jog, or run everyday.

These may help some:
1)Put up pictures of yourself at your eye level on the fridge and cabinets and other places in your kitchen.
2)Make up catchy little phrases to repeat to yourself when you start craving.
3)Drink lots of water.
4)Stay outside most of the day.
5)Everyday, look at yourself in the mirror and say, "I can lose weight, I will lose weight, I will keep it off, and I will NOT give up."
Hope this helps.

Hi !!!
I know how you feel...
ON this website they say to eat like you do now but cut down the portions (in half or take of a third )... eat more fruit and veggies, and drink light soda isntead of regular
Sports helps heaps as it makes you feel better, and accept your body with its own "imperfections".... do something you like like volleyball, basket ball.... swimming !!!
This discipline is difficult to stick to at the beginning (like 2 first weeks') but your stomach retracts and after it's easier.... though there is always a slip here and there !!!
If you want to speak to me, feel free too
Here on aim / aol messenger : kalisto@aol.com
OK, bye, hope this helps

I HAVE TIPS FOR LOSING WEIGHT AND KEEPING IT OFF.  1. Most people think that it's what they eat is why they're fat. That's true in some cases but it's also HOW MUCH OF IT that you eat.  2. Soda isn't good. I recommend drinking water, tea, and this drink called crystal light. Crystal Light has only 5 calories per serving. (those 3 are the best)  3. Add more fruits and veggies to your diet.  4. Many people think that once they lose the pounds go back to eating as normal. That doesn't work. You will only gain the weight back possibly more. So you have to change your eating habibts for life to keep the weight off. I'm not saying you have to be on a diet for the rest of your life...i'm saying when you've lost the weight you desire don't go back to eating junk food all day. Sure you can have chips and cupcake but don't have 3 or 4 cupcakes try sticking to 1.  GOOD LUCK!!!

Heres a good diet plan, breakfast eat small bowl of cereal w/lowfat milk, lunch: half of a sandwhich with some veggies or lowfat cottage cheesse, or just eat a good salad w/lowfat dressing, dinner: eat what your fam. does just smaller portions and no seconds, cut out junk food and drink tons to water! at least 8-10 glasses a day. Excercise a cardio workout for 20-30 mimn. a day like walking, running, rollerblading, swimming, jump roping, jogging, etc. good luck! God Bless!

Everyone has a different build and body type. My mate Greg was extremly overweight when he was younger and is very fit now as an adult. Pay attention to what your eating. Start replacing your sweets with things that taste good, but are lower in fat and calories. Get invovled in a sport activity (or learn to skate board, or something other activity that gets you moving). You are still young and growing, so do not diet too much. Get support from your family and realize you are the same as your mates(just maturing on a different schedule). Love yourself and your body, and NEVER let anyone make you feel inadequate:)

Hi people! I havent posted on here for a while, but Im just going to tell you all that so far I have lost 10lbs! And to all those pple who say "how did you do it?" I am going to state the obvious and say that I ate healthier and exercised! Shock revelation! Yes, I cut down my cals to 1500 and walked 40 minutes every day. And the key to it all is that I stuck with it and I just kept going even when I stuffed up. I will continue to keep going until I reach my goal. Good luck!

The best advice I can give you is to drink lots of water and eat a balanced diet. loosing weight takes time and you want to do it right so not to hurt your body. keep exercising and remember that you must eat to loose weight.
hope this helps.

Matt, with exercise you should do anything that keeps your heart rate up for 30 -40 minutes non stop, called aeorbic exercise. This may involve walking briskly, jogging, swimming, hockey, soccer, bike riding etc. With calories, every food, weighed in grams, has an energy value which is commonly called calories. Sometimes you may see Kilojoules. To convert that to calories divide by 4.2. Carbohydrates (bread, pasta) have 4 calories per gram, protein (meat, chicken) 4 calories per gram, but fats (oil, butter) have over twice that, with 9 calories per gram! This is why its a good idea to stay away from fatty deep fried fast foods. Pizza is very high in fat (cheese and fatty peperoni) and so also very high in calories. One slice has about 250 calories, which is alot considering that a large salad only has about 80 calories!! You could have a large salad (70 cals) and a fruit (60 cals) and a ... (view more)

As a suggestion, try practice running at home outside. Start out with 2 minutes of running, then walking for 2 minutes, then 2 minutes of walking, etc. Try talking to your parents about having healthier food around the house. You have to drink lots of water. Sometimes your body is trying to tell you that you're thirsty/dehydrated, but your mind sees it as hunger. Or if you're bored, or sad, you eat...but try walking or doing something active. It's better and healthier to be active than sit and watch TV.
