I am 5'1 and weigh 180 pounds. I realize i am way overweight but have been in denial about it for a while. I am now ready to start to try to lose the weight(at least 50 pounds). Any ideas for getting started?

Have any of you considered the subway diet? I think it's an okay diet. Go to www.subway.com and click on the link that says something like all about Jared. you can also get nutrtiton information. I don't know if i could do the subway diet because i would spend about 5 dollars everyday seven days a week that 35 dollars. You can easily make you own sub sandwich at home for much less. just go to the store and get little hoggies and plenty of veggies and if you eat meat get white meat like turkey breast. Of course if you add mayonaise and cheese it'll be a whole lot more fat and cals. Jared ate a six inch turkey breast sub for lunch (i think it was turkey breast) and a footlong veggie sub for dinner. i would have no prob. with the veggie sub. but i don't eat meat. well actually i'm a pesco-vegetarian meaning i only eat fish. it's going on six years for this vegeterian thing. anyhow i can see i'm rambling on.

Hey people heres a tip if ur daily calories are too low (1000 or 750) u gain weight this is because less calories slows down ur metabolism so u should try about 2000 a day or 1500 and exercise instead of just 1000.and if u starve urself then once u eat alot again u gain all ur weight back so dont try that either good luck.

This is just to correct a statement made by j_lynn. She said that toasting bread cuts the calories in half. WRONG!!! Toasting bread does not change the nutritional content or the calorie count! If anybody reads any tips on this board that you aren't sure of just research it on the internet! Good luck, God bless, and stay healthy!

hi my name is Jesokah i'm almost 17 and ive always wanted to lose weight since i was in grade 7. im 5'4 1/2 and i weigh 140lbs. everyone in my family calls me fat, and i so i always wear sweaters and baggy clothes. i was just wondering if ne one has any ideas on how to lose weight and shape up by summer. thankx

I know all you are looking for tips and all to lose weight, well, I have the one tip that you can't lose weight without. You have to love yourself. I know it sound sorta corny and all, but it's true. To help yourself lose weight, and keep it off, I suggest everyday, especially right when you wake up, look in the mirror and say something positive to yourself, about your body, or something that your proud of that you did. This will keep you in that positive, "I can do anything because I'm me and I'm beautiful" mood. Also try and give at least one positive comment to a person in your day. Remember, what goes around comes around. Good luck to all of you.

Hey peeps. DOn't worry about it u can do it. In about 4 weeks I lost 13 pounds. I had weighed 162 pounds and know i am 149. I still have alot to go. I need more advice and things i should do that helps u guys lose weight. thanks alot

NEGATIVE CALORIES IS THE KEY!!!a negative calories is sumthing that burns more calories burning the food than the food actually contains. Example:- broccoli contains 50 calories. it takes 75 calories to digest it meaning the other 25 calories is body fat!! Iced water contains no calories but takes 40 calories to keep the body at the same temperature!! i got this out of a new diet book. im starting a new diet at easter break n cant weight cos apparently u can lose loads of weight n u never go hungry. losing weight mean 7 POUNDs A WEEK!! this is not a crash diet. i cant weight!!! l8er

I just found out something great out today. When ever you feel realy bad about having a couple of cookies,try this trick out. Turn on the tv and go to the food network channel. I know that sounds like torture,but trust me! When you see them making these realy fatty high calories foods,say to your self that you are so awesome because YOU ARNT EATING THAT HORRIBLE FOOD!!! Instead you are eating delicious fruits and veges. So what if you had some cookies, im sure its not as bad as that trible chocolate cheesecake theyre eating!! Well tell me if that trick work for you or if you just think im totaly crazy! Good luck with that wieght loss!!!
