I am 5'1 and weigh 180 pounds. I realize i am way overweight but have been in denial about it for a while. I am now ready to start to try to lose the weight(at least 50 pounds). Any ideas for getting started?

Try not to eat too many sweets and chocolates and stuff. Eat more fruits and vegetables. I personaly eat
no more than 1000 calories a day and get a min. of one hour of exercise and a max. of 2 and a half hours maybe even more if i have the time and energy. Do whatever is best for you. That's the key.

I so know where you are coming from. I use to be 175 pounds and 5foot 1 also. I am now 145 pounds and 5 foot 2. It took me about a year to lose all the weight. First I started by counting calories and exercising. If you want to know a good exercise program that invovles running and/or walking, please post here, because it is sorta long, and I don't want to write it all out if nobody is gonna use it. Oh, and when I counted calories, I allowed myself 1800 calories a day, then worked down to 1500.
