go to http://www.healthcentral.com/cooltools/ct_fitness/bodyfat1.cfm this is awesome! it tells you your body fat % (i was 26 a little too high) AND it says "you have x no of lbs of fat and x no. of lbs of muscle and bone and water". i think the normal/healthy is 22%. check it out and post your results!

Hey guys! I am doing pretty good on my diet. I gave up regular pop and haven't had any in about a month, but it is hard to keep on exercising. Sometimes I would rather have ice cream or fastfood. It is also extremely hard because my best friend(Who I love dearly) is overweight and has fastfood everyday and if I say I don't want any she will buy it for me. Who wants to turn down good, free food??? Anyone interested in being diet buddies email me at shimmer4ever99@aol.com. Also, just in case you wanted to know, I am a girl! Thanks and good luck!

DID YOU KNOW: If you were to be absolutely perfect with your eating, and exercised every day for one week, and had the fastest metabolism in the world, it is only possible for the human body to get rid of 3lbs of stored fat per week? thats a fact. Anything else is water or muscle. So all you people out there who want to lose 50lbs in 6 weeks or whatever ridiculous expectations you have, heres the reality check!

Dont worry about it. I have the same problem as you, I have work/study etc that gets in the way of my exerisice, and i think you just have to accept it and do the best you can. 3-5 times is considered great if you can exercise that much. Remember too, that weight loss is mainly what you eat, and exercising just speeds up the process. I wish you luck!

I cant give you anything on clubs but I would like to say its really nice to see posts from someone who is at least living a life similar to me! Sometimes I feel so old on here! I am in college too, and I keep fit by walking. I dont know if you live at your college, but I dont and I catch buses to get there then have to walk 20 mins there. And on 3 days out of 5 I have to go there twice a day. So all up I do like 320minutes of walking a week, PLUS I do 40 minutes of walking every day on top of that. so thats like 600 minutes of walking a week! it keeps me very fit. Also, my college has a lot of sporting clubs and also a gym and a swimming pool. Im sure yours might as well so why dont you join them or ask them about clubs in the area?? Also, what are you studying? Hope this helps!

You sound like you are starving yourself there! Do you realise that you are only having about 400 calories when you are supposed to be having about 1000-1500 to lose weight? I have no idea how you will stick to this cause I know I couldnt! I think eating breakfast is really important. It starts your metabolism for the day. If you eat just that everyday you will be starving and plus it doesnt sound like you are getting enough nutrition.

for a diet to really work ( for more than a little while) it has to be a life style change. some people don't adjust as easily as others and those people have to work twice as hard to get the same results. you make a good point about sticking with a diet, but i don't think it's fair to call people immature just because they have a harder time changing their lives.

Losing weight is SO hard, especially in a culture with so much food! everywhere you go there is food and i know that whenever i go out out my friends want to eat somewhere. But you are right. You cant just whinge and feel sorry for yourself. You have to take control and do the best that you can. I think the main problem is that no one is patient enough. They must realise it takes a long time! a whole lifestyle change in fact. I once heard this really good quote : "the world is full of fat people who dont have the patience to be thin" that is so true. If losing weight were easy, we'd all be skinny!!!
