I just came back from an hour long walk! I'm so proud of myself! For breakfast I had a slice of whole wheat toast with cream cheese and yogurt, and for lunch I just had a turkey sandwich and yogurt! I'm waiting for some friends to come over with some movies and I've cut up mangos, papaya, peaches and nectarines so we're going to have a "fruit" buffet! I don't know if it's just the heat, but I look more forward to eating fruits than fries and burgers these days. Oh...and HAPPY CANADA DAY!!! Whooo I AM CANADIAN!!! ~~MissyK~~

Hey everyone, I've noticed alot of us have been calling ourselves fat on this board. Thing is, theres no such thing as being fat (or even for that matter being skinny!) hows that you say? well just listen. Being fat is an image that society and mankind has made, just like being skinny is. Its the same type of manmade image such as the color blue, when someone sees the color blue they think "blue" and when they see the color red they think "red". Society and time has shaped the human mind to think "skinny" when they think a more bone like strucutre and "fat" when they see more skin or mass on a person. But in reality, these are just images and words put into our head that were came up with years ago. What really exists as being healthy and unhealthy. In order to be healthy we need to get into a healthy body mass/muscle mass/height raito and in order to be considered unhealthy we must have... In order to be healthy we need to get into a healthy body mass/muscle mass/height raito and in order to be considered unhealthy we must have an unbalances body mass/muscle mass/height ratio. My basic point here is that theres no such thing is being fat, skinny, obese ect...they are all images and words used to describe the to most basic forms of the body, healthy and unhealthy. So when someone says they are fat, they are saying they are something that doesn't exist. The idea of fat can only exist in human minds becasue thats where it came from. We can only be healthy or unhealthy, NONE OF US ARE FAT OR SKINNY....WE ARE NOT A MAN MADE IDEA! WE ARE HOW ARE BODY FUNCTIONS...AND THATS EITHER HEALTHFULLY OR UNHEALTHFULYL....i hope this made sense and that this helped. Most of us are in the unhealthy zone right now and we need to improve on that, but theres no such thing as fat or skinny, so don't even bother telling yourself you are etiher one! Luv ya all (view less)

i see what your saying but many of us are at the point wether its eating or sitting on our butts distracting ourselves. If you have the enegery and will power to exercise thats great, but I'd rather have one of these great people on this board stay on this website all day helping others and getting tips for when they finall start to exercise then going to eat something. You can't say a statement like that without taking EVERYONE into consideration. I do see your point don't get me wrong, but this is better then going and eating or doing something harmful to your health. Everyone on this board has a little willpower to start making healthy changes, becasue just wanting to find this site and post is the first step. So the willpower to start exercising and such will come with time, but for now its a way to find other people that feel the way you do about many things. This site is great, and even if you stay on it all day, your sitll doing better then just going downstairs and eating!! so congrats to you! just still try to workout when you can, it really will benefit you!

Ok, i am kind of confused about the whole calorie burning thing...some people say to burn 400, others 1200 and some like 3000. And i am not the kind of person who consistently counts calories i just make sure when i eat something they are not too high, so i'd say i eat about 1100-1300 calories a day, so should i burn more or less than what i consume?
