I'm 5'5 and 138 lbs and want to lose AT LEAST 15 lbs by the time school starts which is in exactly 2 months. I have been trying to lose weight for a while and stick to running every night and eating less. I've already lost about 7 pounds since maybe april but I still need to lose alot more....does anyone have any ideas because its REALLY hard to stick to a specific diet and be so commited to running every day!THANK YOU!!

for the past couple of days I was following a 1,200 calorie diet...but I just did alot of research, and if you exercise either a little or alot or don't exercise at all, eating 1,200 calories will put your body into starvation mode unless your super human and have only eate 700-800 calories your WHOLE life...to lose weight properly you must eat between 1,400-1,800 calories depending on your gender and weight loss goals...for men it usually tends to lean towards the 1,800 and for females its usually around the lower ends of 1,400 calories...please don't put your body into starvation mode...you will lose weight at first but then your body will start saving all the rest of the fat in your body becasue it thinks that if it doesn't soon it will have no fat left. You can't trick your body out of it and your body isn't differnt, it will do this just like everyone elses! So increase your calorie intake by a couple apples and save yourself weight gain! heres just one ofthe many websites the support this ont he net..http://www.diettalk.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-27533.html

I have a question, if I get all my fat for the day from 2tbs peanut butter (Jiffy) which is 20 grams and 3 of that are saturated, is that bad if it still fits under my calorie limit? or should I try to find something else to get the fat from

I used to come onto this board often, around November, to get tips on how to lose weight and exercise. I got a lot of great information but I always seemed to be on the computer and I never really dedicated myself to the whole diet/exercise experience. In January, I really started to become serious about losing weight. I wasn't that overweight (5'4 136) but I had low self esteem and I always felt like all the new fashion trends didn't look right on me because of my weight. This time, I was serious about my diet. I tried 2 diets from December til June. Atkins and Raw Food Diet. Within the first two weeks of Atkins, I lost around 8 pounds. I was so happy with myself. The next 3 weeks I lost about 5 pounds total. And for weeks after that, I didn't lose anymore weight. I had hit my weight loss plateu. I was watching a special on VH1 and I saw something about a lot of celebs going on the raw ... (view more)

hi heather, i couldn't reply back so im posting a responce. atkins realy is not bad for you. just take the time to read the whole book and it has a lot of good and information that makes sense. stop falling into all of these rumors on the news, magazines, etc.....it does a lot of good things for your health like lowering your cholesteral (spelling) and triglicerides ( spelling) so make sure to research the facts before making an acusation. i did atkins and it worked really well for me, not just the weight loss but health wise i felt a lot better. atkins IS good
