Ht. 5'9", Start: 186 lb, Today: 186 lb (BMI %tile: 92), Goal: 150 lb - I've been telling myself for 3 years that I would get down to a healthy weight, and I've only gained since. Today, the last day of the year, I went clothes shopping and found myself in size 16 pants while another girl about my age was trying on size 6. This year, I'm going to lose the 40 pounds that I've put on in the past few years and be able to wear a bathing suit next year without worrying about my belly and thighs. I'm going to lose inches from my belly, be able to run, and stop eating when I'm bored. Here's to starting!

Ht. 157 cm, Start: 86 kg, Today: 86 kg (BMI %tile: 98), Goal: 65 kg - I have always been fat. I have been on countless diets that work until i give up. I found one that worked for about 6 months.I was doing so well...I had lost 15kg and still going strong and then my family and I were hijacked when leaving my house. I live i South Africa so crime is well just one of those sucky things. A week after we were hijacked we were burgled. I just lost it completely. When I was scared I ate chocolates or icing sugar, when I am angry or sad or depressed I also ate. Food was one thing i had or rather have control over. I WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT. I want to look great in a dress for my only school dance in March and I do want a boyfriend although i tell everyone i don't because it is just easier that way. I don't want to be the victom anymore and I hate being teased because I just eat more on the sly then. I want to live and stop pretending...but how?  (Note: 157 cm, 86 kg is 5'2", 189 lb.)

Ht. 5'4", Start: 146 lb, Today: 125 lb (BMI %tile: 76), Goal: 105 lb - EVERYONE READ THIS.... anyone who has ever walked on the beach or went to the pool in the summer and feel intimidated by the stick thin girls in 2 peices...or you feel like people stair at you everywhere you go or that everyone names fun of you...well i used to be like you...i used to be really chubby and everyone would make fun of me and make me cry and depressed...and when i got depress i just ate more. Then one day i decided to prove everyone wrong. I exersixed and ate alot healtheyer and lost weight. Me and my friend desided to sign up for a half maraton (13.2 miles) to get fit. It was alot of fun and benifitial. i rally hope all of you guys stay possitive and keep strving fro your goal... Ht. 5'2", Start: 135 lb, Today: 135 lb (BMI %tile: 91), Goal: 100 lb - Well today was my last straw i always search desperatley online for weight loss suggestion sites but this is the best one yet. I wanted to get started today so yeah. I love to excercise I'm gonna do karate on everyday except fridays and sundays and that's usually an hour or so. My problem is stress eating and the will to eat healthy. I was a former anorexic(ironic right?) and the first thing to lose weight that comes to my mind is starving myself, but seeing as I'm not alone it makes me much more motivated. I am so happy now, it all makes sense cut things in half, lose it slow, press your hands together, they were right every addiction can be broken and i will i found the fire inside me and maybe i'll finally learn to love myself too, thats the most important thing, i was always so worried about what others thought of my body that the stress made me eat and eat.I will take ... Oh and congrats to you two below who lost weight... Being on this site does inspire me to lose weight because before I stopped coming on here I lost a significant amount of weight... now Im heavier than ever but very optimistic

NOT A LOW CARB DIET! I just feel like i'm addicted to candy and super simplistic sugars that I know are horrible for me, and i think i need a break from them to end the addiction)...

Hey Amanda! I didn't realize we have the same goal, lol! ;) Anyway thanks so much for your positive comments, I'm glad I inspired you (though I'm note quite sure why) lol. Well here's the deal. In Feb 2006 I was at my highest wight ever: 184 lbs. Then I got f***en sick and tired of it so I bought the book The Diet for Teenagers Only, which actually taught me very valuable information about being healthy. So I was happy and I had gotten down to 163 last summer (2007) and then some really, really, really bad things happened in my family -- parents always fighting, mom always working, money problems, stress. It was hell, and I was so upset all that time that I ate constantly so by September 2007 I was back up to 178. Then I stayed the same but when back tao all my old habits, and then by September 2008 I was 182, and I cracked. I knew how to eat right but I was still eating crappy... (view more)

PLUS i had my period (sorry i know, i know) which didn't help. im pretty sure i packed on 3 pounds that i lost, making me 170 again but i refuse to put that on here. because it will just depress me. but today ive done really well so far. no more saying "oh ill start again tomorrow" im gonna do this. so wish me luck, and good luck to you all!!
