Ht. 5'4'' - just looking over some of the message boards, it was so depressing to see people having crisises over a size or two.. especially when i need to lose like 150lbs.. im so glad people want to better themselves but im not sure people realize the impact of health and weight.. im a sophomore and recently, in class we started a project called fast food nation.. well we discussed how fast food affects our lives, then watched this movie called Supersize Me.. watch it and be prepared for a reality check.. before i always wanted to lose weight so people would like be but now i want to do it for myself, so ill like myself.. i have a food addiction, im a binge compulsive eater and this is my 1st time posting here.. it seems helpful and i hope it will help me but its going to be so hard.. i live with my mom, brother and grandparents.. and my grandparents love junk food, not to mention theyre the ones going shopping.. so basically i have to choose to pic the sad carrot over the box of donuts or bag of chips.. plus the soda.. i love soda, and i drink like so much.. but thats all my parents buy.. and they wont give up their junk food habits for me.. so basically i wonder if i should just give up and eat myself into the grave.. its like putting a drug addict in a drug house and telling them to stop the drug abuse!

Okay switch to low fat and fat free foods. Like switch to 1% milk and then work your way down to skim milk, use 50% light cheese, fat free mayonnaise (I prefer fat free miracle whip. It has more flavor) and stuff like that. Don’t eat a lot of butter. Try using Butter Buds which are butter flavored granulates. You can find them in the seasonings section at the store. Eat high in fiber foods like whole wheat bread instead of white. Instead of eating regular pizza try frozen smartones or south beach diet pizzas. And instead of ice cream try south beach diet cookies and weightwatchers ice cream bars, weight watchers cake, healthy choice ice cream, no pudge ice cream bars, or skinny cow ice cream bars. They have a lot of desserts out there that aren’t that bad for you! Some things I find helpful is to eat a small salad with fat free dressing with lunch and dinner. It makes you more full when you go to eat your main meal. Don't eat too many sweets. Make sure you don't have soda or chips on a regular basis. Eat LOTS of fruits and vegetables. And drink A LOT of water! Exercise daily. You can walk, or you can run, or ride your bike, or swim. Whatever you choose to do make sure you exercise for at least an hour daily. If you want you can just walk for thrity minutes and then swim for a little while and then just do outside play like jumping on a trampoline or playing basketball. weigh yourself every week and keep track of your weight. if you feel like snacking try drinking flavored water to satisfy your sweet tooth. Pay attention to portion sizes. If the serving size is one cup, don't have more than one cup. Portion sizes are one of the most important things in dieting. And remember to have faith in yourself. If you get yourself down it'll be ten times harder. And also remember to let go every once in a while and eat something that isn't in your diet! Good luck!

I know how you feel. I'm a binge eater too. We can get through it if we all support eachother though. Don't give up! And for the ppl complaining about a few sizes, it doesn't matter. Losing weight isn't easier for them, and no matter what size, if they're unhappy everyday about themselves, it's the same thing whether someone wants to lose 10lbs or 100lbs.
