Ht. 5'7", Start: 340 lb, Today: 340 lb (BMI: 53), Goal: 240 lb - Hi guys, so. . . I guess you have to hit rock bottom, in order to help yourself rise back up? I am so unhappy. I want to be happy again. I am in such a weird situation. I know 26 sounds old, but I don't feel old. . . or like an adult. I need to do some serious growing up. Well, here goes my story. I have been with my boyfriend for 2 and a half years, he likes big guys, but has told me several times that he wants me to be healthy. I want to be healthy too! But, I have some motivation issues as well as a hernia to kind of hinder my motivation. I want to be at a more manageable weight. I want to fit in good looking clothes again! I have put on so much weight that I wear a size 3X shirt and 46 pants I just want to be normal again. I also want to keep my relationship. . . keeping in mind that my boyfriend likes big guys. I know this is a weird situation, friends, but I just feel so alone in my situation. He goes to work when I come home from work and by the time he gets off, I am asleep so I can be ready for work in the morning, so I have no one to talk to. Since I got into my relationship, I have lost communication with all of my friends, so I don't have any friends to talk to about anything. Someone please tell me I'm not weird.

Hello Aiden,
You're not weird. It's totally understandable that to feel unhappy in your current situation, at least I know I would be! (At 23, I'm a little younger than you, and I just feel like I'm playing an adult instead of being one, so you're certainly not alone in this!) Motivating yourself isn't easy in these conditions, especially if you feel lonely. Maybe you could try to get back in touch with your friends? (And you can reach me at if you need to talk. :)
