Hi everyone, I’m Drew. My son is 17, 6 feet tall and about 265 pounds. He’s always been a huge kid, very large and wide frame for someone of height, a thick and stocky build. I never paid much mind to it because he was always a larger kid and his weight never seemed to impact him. He’s relatively active, likes to go on hikes and is working with the emergency medical department. While it was obvious that he was quite heavy, I never would have suspected that he was this heavy. Does anyone know how to address this issue, when his weight doesn’t really impact him negatively? It can’t be good for his health.

The best way to see how it's affecting him is probably to ask his doctor. Things like blood test or blood pressure say more than just weight does. Has he ever talked about his weight?
