I just don't know what to do with my son anymore. He's only 11. 5ft tall. But he ways 165lbs. I swear he's always eating because of boredom. I try so get him to go play. I've done the nutritionist thing amd he cried because he didn't want to go. I've doNE the sports... I've taken out the junk food. If he's bored he eats. I can't constantly entertain him to prevent his boredom. We don't do fast food and I cook healthy stuff... but 2 or 3 servings later.
And in an hour he wants a snack... then another.... them another. If he doesn't get it he cries and throws temper tantrums
He turns his father against me... who is convinced he will grow into the weight. What can I do? :(

I apologize if I sound negative, but I don't think there's anything you can do right now. Your son has to be the one who wants to lose weight. Until that time comes, you're just fighting a losing battle and making yourself upset. I agree it's a very frustrating situation for you, but it seems like you've done everything you can do as a concerned mom. Maybe if you have to buy him new clothes in a couple of months when school starts it will wake him up to how fat he's getting and that will be your chance tp get through to him.

Try to get your son out of the house and do some activities outdoors. When I'm at home I eat throughout the day even when I'm not hungry just for the sake of munching on something. I try to keep lots of fruit in the fridge so instead of eating a bag of chips or a box of snack cakes, I have some strawberries or blackberries etc. Also he will not grow out of his weight most overweight children don't. I know this first hand since I was an overweight child who became an obese teen and now I'm an obese adult.

It's frustrating when you're meant to be working for your child's benefit (even when you're split from them) and they are doing nothing but hindering progress. I have the same problem. With me they are fine if a little obstinate but thats only because of what he has set up. Ugh. If you want to chat my email is by the way.
