My daughter has been overweight her entire life. I love her with every inch of my soul. I have tried very hard to help her slim down. Nothing is working for us. My cousin is a boxer she train's 3x a week! She also has dance lesson's 2x a week. We eat healthy, there are no veggie's the child won't eat. I have taught her that she is beautifull, to keep her head up, and to always be proud of herself. I want this weight loss for her so badly, she is strong but I know it hurt's her. Can anyone help us?? Been to doctors been to nutritionist... Had bloodwork-- done it all!! ??????

Hi, my names Brittany and im 17 just a kid but i am very overweight as well and i workout everyday doing softball and running and everything but never lose weight really...but i went to an endocrinologist a few years ago and found out i had polycistic ovarian syndrome and was insulin resistant which is why i have an extremely hard time losing weight no matter what i do because my body holds onto fat even tho im always exercising.. maybe take your daughter there..it could be very helpful..they put me on all sorts of medicine and ive started losing weight and its made me feel a million times better..its just a suggestion i know you prolly dont wanna listen to a 17 year old but ive had a weight problem my whole life and saw every doctor in the book so it was great to finally get an answer to my problem..and itd be great for you to catch what your daughter has early not when she is 14 like i was because it gets tough...hope i helped a little and goodluck..bye

You didn't mention how overweight your daughter is.

Well, if she's eating heathily and exercising and still not losing weight it HAS to be something medical, because weight loss is simply burning more calories than you take in. (This includes what it takes to function, so it's not like she has to burn every calorie she eats through exercise.) As long as she's on a nutritionist planned diet, then I think she should be losing weight, but if you've strayed from that, or put her on a more restrictive diet, it could be she's not eating enough so her body is in starvation mode, so get a second opinion from a few professionals to make sure she's eating enough, because at 10, opinions vary on how much a 10 year old needs to avoid starvation mode. If nothing else, order more tests. And if there is ANY chance she could be overeating, or eating bad food elsewhere (at school, a friend's house, etc.) look in to that. If it's nothing enviromental, then it's gotta be something medical. Most basic bloodwork doctors run is only for a few basic things. There are hormones and chemicals they don't test for, so go in and talk to a doctor, it may be hard but MAKE them listen. There are rarer medical conditions that they don't routinely check for, so make sure that you get every test done you can. Because it's not like some people just don't lose weight, it's got to be an eviromental factor, or something medical, it has never just been NOTHING. It's hard trying to get a diagnosis of some unknown medical condition, especially since if it's not one of the things doctor routinely check for, they often brush it off thinking it COULDN'T been anything medical, but sometimes you have to fight stubborn doctors to get the treatment and tests run that you know your daughter deserves and needs. Good luck and best wishes! <3
