Sweetheart you are just a baby yourself. But, you heart is in the right place. You want to make sure that you daughter grows up healthy. My daughter is 8 and she has been overweight since she was 3. She has started to lose some weight and she is very proud of herself. Start your baby off healthy and don't give in to the fits when she gets older and give her what she wants. Your the mother and she is the child and the healthy food you give and make for her will be good enough. If you would like to read a good book, read the book called Trim Kids. This book is what helped my daughter lose 10 pounds. This book will also help your sister's little boy. And mija(baby girl) this book could still help you. It's designed for children and teens. Go to a book store to see if they have it and if they don't, see if you could have it ordered. God Bless you and your little baby.

I think Marie had some great advice. Make sure you raise your daughter well and DON'T REWARD HER WITH FOOD!!! I understand that this must be difficult for you, being a teen parent and all, but with hard work and dedication, you can raise a healthy daughter and lose some weight yourself! Best of luck! Cody

I work in the field with children and I am a nutritionist. First thing I see is parents starting solids before 6months this raises the obesity risk, formaula feeding vs. breastfeeding also does. Make your own foods and start with veggies over fruits. Wean from a bottle if using formula by age one. DO not cater meals, avoid non-spill cups and grazing with drinks....whole milk until 2yrs and then get them on skim milk. Avoid processed foods and do not reward with foods. I too was an obese child and this has lead me to this field and I would do anyting to protect my child from the pain of obesity. You must realize that if you begin to make changes in your own habits they will trickle down to your childs...and everyone will benefit...good luck!

just encourage your daughter exercise and feed her healthy meals and avoid snackfoods as she grows up.and try to set a good example for her and your family by making an effort to exercise ,eat healthy, and become fit.
