hey, i have a question. you no how you have to burn the same amount of calories you eat, well i was excrsising today on a stairmaster and it tells you how many calories you burn, well i only burned about 500 calories and i no i ate more then that, so do i have to burn like 1000 calories in order to loose weight, or is it ok? and another question, is 1000 calories a day not healthy?

you burn calories all day long so you don'thave to burn exactly as much as you eat.i read somewhere that in order to actually lose an lb a day you have to burn 3500 more cal's than you eat which can be really dangerous to your health.

yeah, the rule is, if you want to lose weigthyou have to burn more than you consume. But, like the other ppl said, you burn calories just sitting and doing nothing. Not a lot mind you, but they add up during the day. I have no idea what the site is, but try googling different things for calorie intake, or expenditure- theres a site that tells you, based on age height and weight, how many calories you burn a day, if you did nothing but lie in bed. Try to find it, then you can add in exercise and places you walk and stuff like that.

you burn lots of calories all day even when you're not exercising! around 1500-2000 something depending on your weight and height and all that. and you should try to have at least 1200 cals a day when dieting or else your metabolism will go down.

You burn calories just sitting at the computer typing, so u do not need to burn off 1000 calories. That 500 is fine!
