It's happening again. I'm on a serious diet and I've been on one for about 6 days. I'm excercising a great amount and cut my eating down to three very small healthy meals a day. The problem is... I'm very weak all the time. I have trouble excercising and even just walking with this new diet. And yesterday, I collapsed while jogging from exhaustion. (but I didn't pass out like last time). My dad says I have to eat more so I get the proper nutrients. But won't that defeat the purpose of dieting? How much more should eat while still not eating a lot?

Okay thanx for your replies, guys. But I'm not practically starving myself because I don't feel hungry, just weak. And I'm pretty sure I'm having well-balanced meals. But I'll increase the amount, so I have more energy at least. Thanx a lot.

There could be one or two problems in your diet: Either you're eating less than 1,200 calories a day (Meaning you don't have enough calories for energy) or you are exersising so much that you become exausted and can't exersise anymore.

well, what kind of diet are you doing, if its a "im practically straving myself diet" then i would suggest eating healthier without over eating. If the diet your on cuts out a certain group of food, than thats what might be making you tired, make sure your diet includes ALL food groups ( except that candy sugar one ya?) your body needs food to run, the only reason why people are overweight is because we abuse the privilage to stay alive. get it?
P.S.
if this diet is pretty healthy and your still tired, try going to a doctor and she or a referred nutritionist can put you on a diet that is healthy and helpful at the same time.
P.P.S
my dad is the same way :P

Yes, you can eat less but you still have to eat enough. You must not be eating enough. To lose weight it is better to eat at lest 1200-1600 calories a day, if not your body goes on starvtion mode, and you get flabby. And that is not pretty.
