Ht. 5'8", Start: 234 lb, Today: 213 lb (BMI %tile: 98), Goal: 150 lb - Okay...
I really need some advice.
So, me and my family have been going through some very hard times...(we're dirt poor)
And, I really want to lose weight..
But I don't know how to talk to my parents about it.
They're both obese and unhealthy...especially my mom.
Really, I know how to lose weight...
But I can't get motivated...
How can I tell my parents that I want to lose weight?
BTW, I can assure you that most of the weight loss is muscle mass :)

First, if you need to be motivated...take a look at your parents (NO OFFENCE, AT ALL!!!). I'm sure you don't want to be overweight as an adult, right? So, eat healthy. And, if you're food options are limited (believe me, I know what that's like) than just don't over-eat what there is. I know it's hard eating healthy when there isn't anything healthy to eat...but hang in there...things will eventually get better.
Second of all, if you're worried about your parents being offended, they might be. Or, on the other hand, they could be inspired by your motivation to lose weight and want to do it WITH you! You guys can help each other.
=)

You can still get healthy without money.
try walking/jogging/running outside
pushups(even just holding the position can make you stronger)
Jumping jacks, stretching, Lunges, yoga, pilates
These are all things you can do with out Equipment.
You can look up more workouts online.
With food, sometimes its hard to buy foods that are cheap, and healthy. By food in bulk, it will save you money in the long run. Frozen veggies and fruit are very nutritious and pretty cheap.
now..with your parents. Any parent would be happy that their child is wanting to get healthy. Just let them know that you are going to start making better decsions about the food you eat. Maybe suggest that they do it too, so that it is easier and you have some support.
Good Luck

talk to them. tell them you're concerned about your familys life-style, and you'd like to change. ask your mom to buy some healthier foods, and suggest going for walks together or buying some old workout tapes (they sell them at second-hand stores for very very cheap (sometimes even just 1 dollar). hope i helped
