I was reading the bulletins, and it seems like the way some of you are trying to lose weight is not the best way. First of all, and this is obvious, i would really cut down or give up pop/chips/unhealthy snacks. if you have a snack, pour it into a bowl, don't eat out of the bag. this way you realize how much you are eating. when you eat fast, you don't always feel full right away, so it is better to slow down. you don't need to feel full all the time. drink a lot of water. a lot of you are just trying to cut down on food, but that's not the best answer, unless you really are over-eating. by eating less food, your body thinks there is not enough food. it will burn muscle first, and save the fat. so only cut down on food if you are eating too much. eat healthy-try eating fruit for breakfast/snacks. you don't have to completly give up something, remember everything is good in moderation. it is healthy to lose about 1lb a week. that way, it stays off better too. and exercise is important too. you burn the same amount of calories walking a mile as you do running a mile. (no joke, think about it, you walk for longer) but running helps you get in better shape, and there is more time for it. maybe try a run-walk routine. you can also go swimming, rollerblading, biking etc. you need to be active though. try not to eat too late at night, if you feel tempted go brush your teeth. just try to be healthy. you should feel comfortable with your body, because your appearance shouldn't matter, but it feels great to be healthy. i am a few pounds more than i would like, and i just started to pay attention to what i eat, and i have lost weight. I'll start back up tom. I like salad, the only bummer is that is has to be dry and plain, (no dressing or almonds or carrots, etc) and that you cant drink anything but water during the day, those are my standards. Wish me luck. I am thinking of taking diet pills. Do they work? the only thing that has kept me from taking them, is that this particular pill contains Ephedra, which is linked to heart problems and numerous deaths. any ideas? im 5'3 and 130.
