Balanced Breakfasts Before School

You have heard it before: breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Eating breakfast helps your body use your stored body fat for energy. It also gives you energy for school. Eating breakfast can even keep you from overeating or bingeing at night. Most kids and teens are pressed for time in the morning. Use this chart to find easy, balanced, and low calorie ideas. Choose one from each group to help you lose weight and think straight!

Lean Protein Fruit or Complex Carb High Calcium Food
Helps you feel full while helping your body use fat for energy. Gives you brain power and muscle energy while providing fiber and other nutrients. Helps your bones stay strong and gives balanced nutrients for energy.
