I encourage kids who are overweight to choose lower calorie drinks like water and fat free milk (instead of soda). I also encourage people to eat a variety of foods and to not eliminate carbs, fat or protein. Just eat smaller amounts of the them all.

Some people tell me its too hard at first to be active when they are trying to lose weight. Some people just start by changing their meal plans. After a few weeks/months, then many people feel like they have more energy and then start being active. break it down into steps that work for you!

I think losing 10 pounds a week in very unhealthy. It could be water weight or you could also be breaking down muscle. You can't break down fat that fast.

my normal excersize is: 2 1/3 mile walk and on p.e. days i run for 5 minutes without stopping and i work my butt off the whole time (1 hour 40 minutes)

Hmmm...It is hard for me to make that judgement. For some people who are over 100 pounds overweight could possibly do that much weight loss if they did 2 pounds a week and were monitored by a health professional. For some it would be unhealthy. So, it's hard to tell.

WOW! That would be hard and unhealthy! YOur body needs protein and actually NEEDS fat so cutting out those could hurt a person! Plus, i don't know many people who could stick with that!

Slimfast has been around for awhile yet some may consider it a fad diet. It can work for some people yet once many go off the shakes they haven't learned how to change their eating habits and gain it all back.

hmmm. i think it is unhealthy to restrict too many things. it is important to get enough protein, fat, and carbs. some people will restrict sodas for a week yet what happens later when a person adds them back in? are they healthier?

yes. if you omit all carbs your body cannot use stored body fat as energy--it has to break down some muscle to do that. that includes not only your legs and arms yet also your heart and other major organs which are muscles

what i was saying that i encourage people to reduce their calories while eating a varity of foods (that way they get what they need to stay healthy) and then increase their physical activity to include more cardiovascular exercise (when your heart beats faster). this helps your body use stored body fat as energy instead of muscle!
