Ht. 5'1", Today: 150 lb (BMI %tile: 95) - hey ever1,im 5'1 and weigh 150 pound so im overweight for my height,and my life pretty much SUX my brother calles me fat everyday in front of his and my friends and my mom buys me diet pills and other retarded supplements that i dont want and pretty much makes me feel huge cuz i feel my own mother doesnt like the way i look,my whole family including my twin sister is thin. i have very LOW self confidence i cant make new friends or just have fun with the friends i do have all b-cuz i feel ashamed of the way i look im not obese or anything just sort of chubby i tried to cut back on junk food and that works for like a DAY i have no will power so sum1 pleeez give sum advice

hey, this is Maria. I know how it is to feel the way that u do. My parents also tell me the same. My father always pushes me to work out. Now, i have been working out because i felt i was big. And it made my father push me more. It might sound crazy, but by your parents pushing u so much they can actually destroy the little will power that you might already have had. It's hard to feel that the people you love most actually put you down and make u feel unloved. Honey, you have to keep going. Sometimes they don't see the damage they do. You tell yourself... listen self.. I'm going to do this because I want to. Because it is good for my health and emotions. Not because other people tell me to. And when they bother you it is really hard, but u go on and ignore them. If you choose to, talk to them, if not don't listen to the emotional abuse that is being done to u. This might not work for u, but it does for me. Not all the time, i have to be honest. The feeling of being put down by ur parents is a feeling you won't ever overcome. But learning to accept the things you cannot change, gaining courage to change the things you can, and having the wisdom to know the difference can help you mold yourself into the beautiful person u want to be and already are. listen, working out is not that bad. I walk on a treadmill for 45min every day. I lost 15lbs. And i did this all in 1month and 1/2. It is possible. And honey, who said u had to eat only salads! Let me tell u during the time i lost weight i treated my self to fridays, mcdonalds, etc. You don't change the habbits u have in eating. u just cut down on ur food, exersise, and treat urself to nice things. Take care of urself too. Buy urself some nice shoes just because it's ur day!!!! u know what i'm saying. Ur human, ur body is ur temple and u tell urself I look good girl!!! and tell urself that u love u. And when everyone sees what a radient girl u truly are filled with laughter and self esteem, everyone will be atracted to you. boys and girls alike. You could become the life of the party. When people see happiness in others, they want to be where the party is at!! I really would like to hear from u. U don't have to become my friend, but I want to see how u are doing.

Ok, first of all, that is terrible that your family treats you like that. Go have a talk with them, and tell them how you feel. Family is what will really help you lose weight because they see you the most often and they can definitly help with keeping you away from fatty foods and push you to excersise. I know my family has helped me a lot!
My other advice to you is to remember everything you had to eat in a day, write it down, then go over it and think of wat you NEED to cut out of your diet. Continue to do that, then when ever you feel your self-esteem kick in, you can look over that book, and see your progress.
Good luck, and remember 80% of losing weight comes from eating healthy foods, and the rest from excersise. Now you know wat the main focal points are, and again good luck!

don`t give up! and just try little by little taking things out maybe it`s a coke a cookie whatever but if you take one little junk food out everyday you will take more and more out everyday! and also you need to exercise if it`s jus 5 minutes of walking or bike riding or whatever you will see results maybe not right but in time! if you need anything you could e-mail me at!
