Ht. 5'0", Today: 210 lb (BMI %tile: 98) - Hi everyone My name's Sarah. I am 13 years old and weigh 210 pounds. My height is 5 foot. My waist is so big that I cn never see my feet past my stomach. I want to know if it is possible to lose weight without exercising coz it is so boring after ten minutes walking my heart is beating so fast i think it is going to explode. Everyone laughs at me even my parents and teachers. I need help.

hey sarah, i have the same problem as you so dont feel bad! I am 14 years old and i weight about 187 pounds. I havent been able to start any diets because i dont get motivated enough! i need help! I am so embarrassed when i go to school and talk to all of my friends that look like twigs and i just cant feel good about myself! i am 14 and dont have a boyfriend. i look like crap and i really want to loose the weight so maybe we could like start a diet plan together or something! well i have to go if you can, help me out!! please!

Hey, if you get bored with regular excersise. try tae-bo. its actually really fun and you can do it in moderation until you get used to the work. Good Luck!!!!

Hey Sarah, First of all I just wanted to say that I'm really sorry about your current situation. And I am not talking about your weight. Your family is supposed to be your supporters and help you, not to make fun of you. I agree with Krystle next time one of your family members or even your teachers.. (which i must say is totlally wrong and they should know that. The teachers job is to help you learn to grow not to bring you down) critizes you tell them how much you are trying, and how much their comments hurt you. If they do noy understand this than tell them that you really want to lose the weight, but it's very difficult without all of the support. I must say that I've had avery supportive family who has always loved me for who I am and not how much I weigh. And now that I'm finally doing this and sticking to it (although it's been less than a week) I dont know how I would do it without the support of my family, or of the teens in this chat room. So if your family doesnt wanna support you in your struggles, let me tell you that we will and you can always post how your feeling, and if you really want this you can stick to it. Just looking at these posts for like 10 minutes every day has given me so much hope, and I bet the chats are really helpful tooo.. (i just don't know how to use it yet. So anyways start slow.. Take a 10/15 min walk as much as you can during the week, do this when your happy or even angry.. When I'm angry it is my favorite time to go for a walk because I feel so much better after. With your eating cut out as many carbs as you can a day try to drink more water, or tea or in other instances drink diet soda. Eat more fruit and vegetables, and Ive found that a handful of peanuts or a bananna with a little peanut butter keeps from being hungry. Set up your own plan something you can stick to. And it's hard but get rid of the sweets. And if you absolutely need something have your mom pick up some healthy chioce fudgicals or something. It's only been about 5 days for me but since im not on a "diet" persay, I am not thinking about food. I used to think about it all the time but since, I feel like im not on a plan where i cant eat fruit, and some other things it has become much easier for me. But Krystle and Anne are right you should try and at least go for a walk, dance while claeaning your room, but u need to eat healthy and excersize to lose weight continously. And another thing talk to your doctor, I did that last friday I told her I was concerned about my weight and how seld concious I felt and she gave me tips and a packet on how to get yourself motivated. well- you should go on a diet of no junk food and high veggies and healthy things with low calories and you'll lose weight. when you start to lose weight you'll find it easier to exersize and build up like krystle says to a longer more intense exersize because your body needs it and you'll need it if you want to keep losing weight...

I'm really sorry to be he one to tell you this, but you do need to exercise to lose weight. As dieting will only take you so far. They may laugh now (Which is very mean) but once you start getting fitter, they'll see an improvement. Your parents, let alone your teachers shouldn't be laughing at you. Next time they do it, tell them how hurt you were by their actions. What right do they have to be the cause a 13 year's hurt feelings, you have enogh to deal with being a teenage?. If you try to do ten minutes of exerise a day, then it won't be sooooooo boring and you can slowly build on the time. Plus it will get easier for you. Me= I was so unfit when I started exercising, but now I can go an hour non-stop, and I find it fun!!! Find something you like and stick to it!!!
