Ht. 5'8", Start: 225 lb, Today: 178 lb, Goal: 160 lb - k so i thought i'd never revert back to my old ways.. but i made myself throw up two days in a row after eating what i thought was too much. i dont do it all the time but sometimes it just eats away at me until i throw up, then i feel better, and not like a failure. im not bulimic though. this summer i did it for about a month after binging then i made myself stop. it didnt help either. i still didnt lose weight. i think that im just afraid of gaining weight when i eat a little too much. either way no more. i cant go back to that. otherwise though ive been okay. just anxiously waiting for these last 18 pounds to come offfffffff. anyways good luck guys!

Okay - not to be mean, but if you're bingeing and throwing up, you ARE bulimic, and I think saying you're not is a way of denying that it's a really serious problem. I have been bulimic too, and trust me, if you're still at the point where you can stop, please, please, please stop while you still can. It will ruin your life.

Yeah, purging won't make you skinny trust me. I DID have bulimia and the baggage sucks. Sometimes I still feel like a freak. If I were you, I'd stay as far away from that track as I could.

I know you probably dont think you have a problem but if your going to keep this healthy lifestyle long term you have to accept the consequencesof eating too much and messing up. For instance if you eat too much, yes you will feel guilt, but you cant resort to throwing up just to make you feel better about it. That is called an EATING DISORDER and if you continue to do that you take the easy way out, even if you dont do it that often. The best thing to do is know that 'yes i messed up, but tomorrow i will do better' if you dont learn to control this binging the hard way, you never will stop it. Its totally normal to binge and eat alot somedays but throwing up is not the way to handle it. Just think about it. Do you recognize the binging and throwing up afterwards is a cycle for you? Do you think everytime you mess up, you have an itch to throw up? Is this the healthy choice? -Im only trying to help. We are in this together. Good Luck

i'm in a similar situation. i'm not bulimic, but for the past two months i've been been binging and purging. and i mean massive binges, like probably 5000 calories. but recently i read that throwing up only gets rid of 30%-50% of the food you consumed. it may look like you're getting it all out but half of it is really just stomach acid and saliva, and most of the calories have been absorbed. reading that made me want to stop. and when you're wanting to eat too much just stop and think how disgusting you feel after you eat it and after you throw up and realize it's not worth it. i know it's easier said than done. and plus it's just one slip up, nothing to really beat yourself up over. good luck.
