I eat when I am depressed, bored, happy and it seems Im additcited to it. I understand that I have a problem with emotinal eating and binging(eating everything sight). I've tried strict diets, eating healthier and cutting portions of food I like in half but I cant stay on a diet for long becasue I just love food. Any tips on how to break this cycle of emotional eating and my attachment to food?ps- I do exercise 4 times a week by riding my bike for an hour

I know how it feels to eat due to emotional issues. That is how I gained the weight myself. I am afraid that there is no "cure" for emotional eating. Just control. You would be surprised at the number of people on this board who are fighting unbelievable opstacles in their life. Everyone can lose weight despite lifes twists and turns. You will have to face whatever is getting in your way or else things will never change. You need to sit down and ask yourself which is more important - that cookie in your hand, or you being happy. And I am here to tell you that nothing is better than being happy. Pretend you are all grown up and you are your idle weight - now imagine what you would say to yourself right now...would you say "keep being unhappy" or "that one bag of chips isn't going to change anything"? Or would you say "Today is the day your life changes for ever"? Only you can change yourself. No matter how many times you post messeges on this board, no one here can do the work but you. I wish I could do it for you but I can't! But I can ask you just one question...Is "today the day"?

dont call it a diet, because then your bound to fail, think of it as changing your lifestyle, and it IS hard for the first two weeks, but your body goes into that mode and it gets easier, try saying stuff like, "im gonna eat healty for ONE week" and stick to it, and if you make it have a reward food, but dont overdue it, if you dont succeed dont be hard on yourself and just reset the goal, dont give up, it just makes it harder. hope i helped
