Ht. 5'9", Start: 260 lb, Today: 260 lb (BMI %tile: 98), Goal: 160 lb - I want to loose weight more than anything. I am sick of being so self conscious. I have tried everything but always loose motivation. I am ready to start now and I am not giving up.

GREAT! & you can do it! I used to weigh 237lbs...and I found that at that time the most helpful thing for me was setting small goals. So instead of thinking, "I want to lose 100lbs" just think to yourself, "I want to lose 5lbs"! This is a much more manageable goal and you'll feel ecouraged when you get to it, then just keep at it in 5lb increments. Eventually you'll get down to where you want to be. Also, as I tell everyone, remember that everything counts...walking instead of driving, drinking water instead of pop/juice or skipping dessert...they all will lead to weight loss eventually. (in the same way remember that it works oppositely as well...everytime you choose the pop or drive it adds unneeded calories). Good luck...YOU CAN DO IT!

Good for you, making that decision. It IS rather hard to keep motivation, especially when the end result seems so far away. Have patience, keep at it and you'll get there. Best of luck!
