My son is 12 years old. He plays on the schools basketball team, soccer team, and started going to the gym a couple times a week for cardio. However, he weighs 180. He is almost 6 feet tall and already wears a size 11 shoe. The doctor has never even mentioned his weight. Even though he is active I am starting to get very concerned. Any suggestions?

I think the doctor didn't mention his weight, because he is only very slightly overweight. In Europe, we calculate in cm and kg, he'd be 183 cm tall and about 82 kg. The ideal weight is considered to be the height (cm) - 100 - 5% (10% for females). So for your boy it'd be 183-100=83 => 5% of 83 = 4 => 83-4=79 (174-175 lbs). So he is only about 5-6 lbs overweight. I wouldn't worry about that if I were you.
