I am not the parent of an obese child however I am very worried about my sister in law she is 9 she weighs 250 and her mom doesn't seem to really care. Her mom just giggles when she eats a whole cake or a large plate of summer sausage and cheese. All of the children in the family are large including my husband who has reached 400 pounds. I just don't want my sister in law to struggle with her weight and she is bigger than the other kids in the family at her age. I don't know what to do or if it's even my business. Any ideas

My stepdaughter is almost 11 and she weighs 200 pounds. I worry about this as she is bullied and teased at school. I make healthy dinners for her when she comes to visit and I see she sneaks and throws it out in the garbage, which leads to a fight. Her mother lets her eat a lot of fast food, this has been going on for three years and her weight just increases. I have been told to leave her alone, so I have learned to let it go. You can Lead a horse to water but you cant make them drink. My husband feels he can handle it, I just finally threw my hands up. :(

That's a tough call, your niece is in great danger for her feature, that's something your sister-in law to see her daughter eat a whole cake, or a whole plate of sausage or cheese, when you 've her at your house to sleepover sit her down tell her your re worried bout health, + w.t. you care bout her. your sister-in law sounds like me to is neglecting her well being, 250 lbs for a nine year old that's to much she is morbid obese I weighed under 100 lbs at nine years old. some times its difficult to get a parent to listen bout their child's w.t.
